Good afternoon Everyone,

While the elections didn't turn out the way I had hoped to secure a spot on the Catawba County Board of Education. I want to say congratulations to Michelle, Don, and Tim. We pray that you will bring those conservative values to the School Board and make our school system shine.

To all those who supported me via votes, likes, shares, or donations to my campaign I am indeed humbled and grateful for your support. To those who worked at the polls I appreciate you being my voice in the field when I could not be there.

This has been a great opportunity for me to meet like minded individuals running for school board but also allowed me to meet people who really care about our next generation and the school system.

Good Afternoon Everyone! We are 30 days out from the start of early voting (Oct. 20th) which means signs will be going up throughout the county. Please help me spread the word to friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to vote in the upcoming elections and Vote for Nick Huffman for Catawba County School Board. I want to be a representative voice for you and your student and also be a voice for teachers. We must work together for a stronger education for our children.

Two Huge reasons for why I am running for Catawba County School Board this November. I want them to have great school system to learn and grow. So I will fight for them like I will for the other 15,800 students enrolled in the Catawba County School system. I pray that these girls will have a great school year along with all of you and your students. I also pray that the teachers and staff have the support of the students and parents throughout the school year.

This past Wednesday I attended the School Safety Summit at Corinth Reformed Church. This was a great opportunity for the community to come together and learn from local and national experts in keeping our schools and churches safe.

One key stance of my campaign for Catawba County School Board is the safety of students and staff at all schools across the district. If elected I look forward to working with board members, staff, administration, and local law enforcement in keeping our schools safe.

I started this campaign to run for School Board to make a local impact that directly affects my community and my kids who attend school in the Catawba County School system.

The world has changed so much in just the last 20 plus years since I graduated from Bunker Hill High School. That change is good in some way in others not so good. After the 2020 elections, I felt that there was a shift in the Country and so I have been following and researching ways to make a local impact. One item that I believe has been impacted since the election is voter confidence in our election system. This is the one item that gives us all a say in how we shape our republic. We cast our votes for individuals to represent our values, morals, and beliefs. When you are no longer represented by those individuals whom you cast your vote for you feel disenfranchised and apathy toward elections.

The local turn out of the Hickory elections I believe clearly illustrates this. I have sited links below to the websites from the Hickory Daily Record and Catawba County Board of Elections.

Out of the just over 29,000 registered voters in Hickory only just over 2000 voted in this election. 7% of the registered voters voted. We must do better and show up to the polls to vote. With early voting and election day there is really no reason not to get out and take 5 maybe 10 minutes max to let your voice be heard. Local elections directly affect YOU!!! As we approach the election in November on a non-presidential election year the voting percentage is typically lower in North Carolina just above 50% and in Presidential election years its close to 75% of the registered voters.

So, I challenge all of you to get involved in elections and seek information from those running for office for you to make the best judgement on election day and get out and vote. Thomas Jefferson once said, “Tyranny prevails when good men do nothing.” In good consciousness I could not stand on the sidelines any longer and had to get in the fight.
