No School on Wednesday, March 19th
Due to a Blizzard Warning in effect from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19, Norris School District will be closed on Wednesday, March 19. All practices and activities are also canceled.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting strong wind gusts (50-65 mph), whiteout conditions, and 3-7 inches of snow. The transition from rain to snow is expected around 7:00 AM on Wednesday.

Due to inclement weather conditions, there will be no school on Wednesday, March 5th. All practices and activities have been canceled.

There will be no before school care tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th.

Due to the cold weather advisory in effect from now until noon on Wednesday, there will be a late start on Wednesday, February 19th. All morning practices and/or activities are canceled. The late start will provide additional time for our route buses to warm up and travel district roads safely in daylight. It will also allow communities and counties to make another pass on the roads. Please take necessary precautions, as the National Weather Service forecasts wind chill values as low as -22 degrees. Be sure to allow extra time in the morning to warm up your vehicles and dress warmly with a jacket, gloves, and a stocking hat.

Building start times will be as follows:

Elementary School: 10:25 AM
Intermediate School: 10:30 AM
Middle School: 10:30 AM
High School: 10:25 AM

While Norris School District does not have a specific minimum temperature requirement for closures, we typically base our decisions on official warnings. We recognize that wind chills will remain cold until Thursday morning; however, each situation is evaluated individually. Any possible changes to the school day on Thursday will be communicated when appropriate.

While these decisions are never easy, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. We hope that by notifying you in advance, you will have time to make necessary arrangements for childcare and other needs.

Norris has announced a late start tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21st due to cold temperatures.

The Tree House will be open normal hours.

Due to the National Weather Service’s forecast of wind chills ranging from -20°F to -35°F, along with high winds, Norris School District will have a two-hour late start on Tuesday, January 21st. These conditions present potential safety risks, and we want to ensure the well-being of all our students and staff.
Building start times will be as follows:

Elementary School: 10:25 AM
Intermediate School: 10:30 AM
Middle School: 10:30 AM
High School: 10:25 AM

Buses will run accordingly and there is no AM preschool or activities.

Please dress warmly and travel safely. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
