Ag in the Classroom had a wonderful 2025-2026 school year!

Linn County Education Outreach was able to reach over 10,000 students through a variety of activities- AITC monthly lessons, Ag in the Park, chicken hatching, career day, & more! With each of these interactions, students were able to learn about the important role that agriculture plays in our lives. These hands-on experiences help spark curiosity & increase agriculture literacy!

Thank you to all of the teachers who welcomed our Ag in the Classroom program into their classrooms. It was such a joy getting to connect with all of the students and staff. Already looking forward to next year!

Preschool & Kindergarten classrooms have been learning about beef cows this month. Just in time for National Beef Month in May! 🐮

We started our lesson with the story My Family’s Beef Farm. After our book, we discussed why ear tags are used for identification in cattle for various reasons. They each got to color a beef cow & created ear tags of their own!

Tough loss. Close game. Great competition.

A deal is a deal. After a close Sweet 16 game between Nebraska and Iowa, we’re highlighting six facts about Iowa agriculture and the important role it plays in feeding and fueling our country.

We’ll give credit where it’s due. From leading the nation in corn, pork, and egg production to major investments in soil health and water quality, Iowa farmers are doing some impressive work.

Congratulations on a great game, Iowa Farm Bureau .

(Nebraska still holds the top spot in our book. 😉)

🌽🚜 Happy Iowa Ag Week!

This week we celebrate the farmers, educators, students, and communities that make Iowa a leader in agriculture. From the crops growing in our fields to the food on our tables, agriculture plays a vital role in our everyday lives.

Organizations like the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation work year-round to help students understand where their food comes from and the impact agriculture has on our state. Iowa Ag Week is the perfect time to recognize the people and programs that keep Iowa growing. 🌱

Join us in celebrating the hard work, innovation, and dedication that make agriculture such an important part of Iowa’s story!
