’Twas the Night Before the Last First Day at Nixon 💚💛

’Twas the night before school, and all through the halls, Not a student was stirring, no footsteps at all. The classrooms were ready, the name tags just right, As we prepared for our last first-day Nixon night.

The teachers had gathered for learning and cheer, Preparing their hearts for this very special year. Through days of PL, we laughed and we grew, And had quite a few treats to help get us through!

Big Wheel Pizza started one morning just right,
With amazing breakfast pizza—a definite delight!
Corda Credit Union stopped by with snacks and tasty treats, Giving our staff something delicious and sweet.

Then Pastor Chopper’s church Living Hope came our way, With a full 319 soda bar to brighten our day! And our wonderful PTA made sure we felt spoiled, too, With back-to-school gift cards and staff T-shirts for our crew.

Now the building is quiet, but not for much longer, Tomorrow these halls will grow louder and stronger. Backpacks and laughter will fill every floor, And familiar little faces will walk through our doors.

This year may hold “lasts,” and that makes it bittersweet, But there are memories still waiting for us to meet. There’s so much more fun to come before we close this door, More learning, more laughter, more moments in store.

So tonight, before tomorrow begins our final first-day lore, We’re grateful for the people who make this school so much more. One incredible year. One amazing crew. One final journey together before this chapter is through.

Tomorrow, Bobcats, we begin once more…
And we CAN’T WAIT FOR ONE LAST ROAR! 🐾💚💛

Calling all future cheerleaders & dancers!

JFK Cheer & Dance is hosting a Junior Cheer & Dance Clinic for students in Pre-K through 6th grade! This is a fun opportunity for students to learn, have fun, and then perform at a JFK varsity football game!

Clinic: Tuesday, September 15
Performance: Friday, September 18
Cost: $35
Registration/payment due: August 31

One week away! 🎒✂️ Is your student’s backpack packed and ready?

With school starting soon, now is the time to cross off those final supply list items! Here are 3 quick tips to make supply shopping and prep stress-free:

1️⃣ Stick to the Official Lists: Save time and money by checking our district website for classroom-specific supply lists before heading to the store.
2️⃣ Label the Essentials: Markers, lunchboxes, water bottles, and jackets have a way of wandering off! A quick name in permanent marker saves a lot of lost-and-found headaches later.
3️⃣ Keep it Simple at Home: You don't need to carry everything on Day 1! Pack the basics for the first day, and teachers will let students know if extra supplies can stay at home or be brought in over the first week.

Let’s get those backpacks filled! ✏️ Stapled, labeled, and ready to go!
