In these images from the gold medal match at the North American Cup, one can clearly see the low level of judging and refereeing. The athlete from the United States lost twice consecutively by the same score, 6–4, in favor of Mexico.

What is most relevant is that the four points earned by the USA athlete were awarded through video review. This means that the judges failed to recognize those points during the match, which raises serious concerns about partiality and fairness.

This event was especially important because it helped determine which athlete would participate in the upcoming Pan American Games. For that reason, the level of officiating should have been much higher, more objective, and more professional.

In jujutsu, kuzushi means breaking the opponent’s balance before applying a throw, lock, sweep, or takedown.

The triangle of imbalance is a teaching idea: imagine the opponent standing with both feet on the floor. Their feet form the base, and their center of gravity is above that base. To make them weak, you move their center outside the triangle/base of support.
