Professor of Hebrew, former resident of Israel, and NY State Certified Social Studies Teacher is eager to work with you and/or your child on a variety of skills including reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking. I am also experienced in teaching prayers, Torah, other religious texts, Jewish history (ancient and modern), and Jewish holidays and life cycle observances. Lessons are customized t
o the individual student and/or situation. For example, I have worked with groups of adults to offer conversational practice based on readings that were selected for their ability to generate discussion. A different example of the types of students I have worked with include elementary school aged children whose parents desire a focused approach to the fundamentals of Jewish heritage and practice, and to prayers that are the basis of synagogue services across all denominations. New opportunities in recent years have expanded my lecturing work. While teaching Hebrew at Long Island University, I was recruited to lecture for the Hutton House non-credit adult education program. Enrollment in the first course that he offered at Hutton House in September 2012 exceeded one hundred people, and my course offerings about Jewish and Israeli History and Culture have remained popular ever since. The courses that I have developed for the adult education program at Long Island University are suitable for other audiences that are interested in Israeli Culture and Jewish History. The content of each course can be tailored to fit the time frame and particular interests of your group.
