We are thrilled to officially welcome Mark and Rebecca Honberger to the YWAM Cross Wind family!

Mark and Rebecca are true answers to prayer, joining our staff team as we prepare to launch our very first Discipleship Training School (DTS) this fall. Having completed their own DTS in Paraguay, they bring a deep heart for missions, discipleship, and pioneering alongside us.

Mark brings an incredible background in parks and recreation, off-grid living, and practical leadership that will be invaluable as our base grows.

Rebecca brings a rich background as a mentor, mom, childrenā€™s ministry leader, and homesteaderā€”bringing warmth, wisdom, and hands-on skill to our community.

ā€œDid God bring everything together?ā€

A friend messaged me that today after seeing our posts about painting and preparing for our Fall DTS.

Wellā€¦my short answer is, ā€œNo.ā€ šŸ˜‚

But hereā€™s what I do see: God is bringing things together step by step.

One of our foundational values in YWAM is Hearing Godā€™s Voice. And every time Ben and I stop, pray, and listen to God about this Fall DTS, we sense Him saying the same thing:

Keep preparing.
Keep getting ready.

So thatā€™s what weā€™re doing.

Praying. Preparing. Praying some more. Painting walls. Getting classrooms ready. Taking the next step we know to take.

We had a HUGE answer to prayer this week regarding the school, and weā€™ll be sharing more about that soon! šŸ™Œ

But today, our assignment was simply to get ready.

And maybe thatā€™s a word for someone else, too.

You may not see everything coming together yet. You may not have all the answers. You may not know how God is going to do what He has asked you to do.

But if Heā€™s told you to prepare, prepare.

Thereā€™s still time for God to move.
Thereā€™s still time for more students to join us.
Thereā€™s still time for pieces to fall into place.

Weā€™re choosing to trust Him with the how and be faithful with the next step.

So today, we painted. šŸŽØ

And weā€™re believing God is preparing something beautiful. ā¤ļø

Little by little, this space is coming togetherā€”and today weā€™re one step closer to being ready to welcome our first DTS students! ā¤ļø

So grateful for all the amazing volunteers who came out to help today. We couldnā€™t do this without you! Thank you for helping us prepare a place where students can encounter God, grow in their faith, and be equipped to take His love to the nations.

For the past two months, we have been incredibly blessed by Karenā€”a fellow YWAMer who is serving here at Cross Wind while she waits for her next step to open up.

Karen has served at multiple YWAM bases and in many different ways, and she has a deep passion for people living in great darkness. This summer, she served with Camp David, and these past few weeks she has poured herself into hospitalityā€”doing some DEEP cleaning in our lodges and helping reset our staff housing. šŸ™Œ

Yesterday, she joined Base Leader Grace in painting our DTS classroom as we get everything ready for students arriving next month! šŸŽØ

But what we love most is hearing Karen say that this season of serving in a quiet, slower-paced environment has been exactly the kind of refreshment she needed.

Sometimes the next step isnā€™t immediately clear. Sometimes we need a place to serve, breathe, listen to God, and allow Him to prepare us for what comes next.

Coming out of a busy summer of outreach means thereā€™s plenty of post-outreach paperwork to tackleā€”and Lynn has already been a HUGE blessing in helping us get it all sorted! šŸ“‹āœØ

We are SO grateful for Mission Builders who come alongside us, roll up their sleeves, and serve wherever thereā€™s a need. What a gift to have people willing to use their time, skills, and energy to help make ministry happen!

It was SO good to be back in the Prayer Room for base worship and prayer this week! šŸ™Œ

We had paused our regular rhythm during our summer outreach with Camp David, but now weā€™re back in the saddleā€”and it feels good! ā¤ļø

We were especially grateful to have a visiting YWAMer and a Mission Builder join us for worship and intercession. What a gift to seek God together!

Our intercession focus this week was our upcoming DTS! Weā€™re praying for the students God is calling, for every detail of preparation, and most of all, that this school would be a place where students encounter God and are transformed by Him.

Weā€™re expectant for what Heā€™s going to do! šŸ”„šŸ™
