☀️ **Important Update: Extreme Heat Precautions for Hesston Athletics**
The safety and well-being of our student-athletes is our top priority. In light of the extreme heat forecasts, the Hesston Athletic Department is implementing proactive measures and strict safety precautions for all outdoor practices and athletic events.
Here is how we are keeping our student-athletes safe:
* ⏰ **Adjusted Event & Practice Schedules:** To avoid peak heat hours, several start times are being shifted to early mornings or later evenings. Please keep an eye on the **Bound calendar** for the most up-to-date schedule changes.
* 🧊 **Cold Water Immersion Tubs:** Cold-water immersion tubs will be on-site and ready at events for rapid cooling in the event of heat-related stress.
* 🧣 **Ice Towels:** Cold, wet towels will be provided to players on the sidelines and during game breaks to assist with core cooling.
* 💧 **Extended Water Breaks:** Practice and game structures will feature frequent, prolonged hydration breaks to ensure players stay properly hydrated.
* 🏥 **Medical Supervision:** A certified Athletic Trainer will be on-site or on call for all athletic events and practices to continuously monitor conditions and athlete wellness.
We encourage all athletes to prepare before stepping onto the field by hydrating early, getting adequate rest, and reporting any heat discomfort immediately to coaches or training staff.
Thank you to our parents, fans, and community for your continued support and flexibility as we adapt schedules to keep our athletes safe!
**Go Swathers!**
