Visit CalEarth.org/volunteer to register! This event is open to adults and children of all ages. Day starts at 9am with a brief orientation followed by a site clean up and various opportunities based on skill level and interest. Around 1pm we will break for a potluck lunch (optional) and then after lunch we will take you on a tour of the site! Invite your friends and family we can use plenty of hands!

The Strawbale Dome at Cal-Earth Institute. Built in the 1990s, this dome was built as a research project by students to try and combine more than one natural building system. As a hybrid design, the 25-foot dome includes walls built from superadobe up to 6 feet night, a timber tensile ring, and strawbale roof.

Learn to build with CalEarth and in Italy this summer! ⭐️

This 8-day intensive course teaches participants how to apply SuperAdobe/earthbag techniques for dome construction. During the workshop we will build an earth dome with a door opening and a window. The purpose of the course is to give the theoretical and practical tools useful to design and build a small earth structure or living space. Participants will receive an official certificate of completion from Cal-Earth Institute.
