🎓✨ Celebrating Excellence in Health Science & HOSA ✨🎓

This year, we proudly recognize three outstanding young ladies whose dedication, leadership, and commitment have helped shape the culture of excellence within our Health Science program and HOSA chapter.

From the very first day they stepped into the classroom, Sarah Barnard, Mimi Elliott, and Jayden Passwaters consistently rose to every challenge — volunteering their time, embracing responsibility, and executing every task with professionalism, enthusiasm, and heart. Their impact on our program has been undeniable, and the standard they set will inspire future students for years to come.

To honor their hard work and bright futures, each student has been awarded a $500 scholarship to support their continued education in the healthcare field. 🩺❤️

Please join us in congratulating these remarkable graduates on a job exceptionally well done! We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see the difference they will make in the future of healthcare.

Thank you to the amazing Jill Robertson, CRNA, Sentara Albemarle, for bringing the fun toys to our Health Science 2 class. Today students learned how to intubate patients for anesthesia. It is because of Healthcare professionals like Jill, that are willing to give their time to share with my students, that I can expose them to so many different aspects of Healthcare. They are for sure an absolutely invaluable part to my students learning and decision making about their future careers.

Thank you to everyone that visited this year, but it is time to wrap up this semester and graduate these Seniors!

Students in BioMed are using everything they have learned about Forensics, Pathology, Crime Scene analysis, blood splatter and fingerprinting to create their crime scene diaromas. Can't wait to see their final products.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the students, staff, family and community members that donated blood today in support of our Blood Drive. We collected 37 pints which put us over our drive goal AND put us in the $1500.00 scholarship bracket. For the second year in a row, we will be able to award 3-$500.00 scholarships to our graduating HOSA members. Stay tuned to see who is fortunate enough to be selected.

Today we had donors that were on their 116th, 84th and 66th donations.....what a selfless act that impacts so many lives.

This week BioMedical students Mahalia, Logan, Brianna, Giada and Michelle developed and taught a unit on the Digestive System to students in our OCS class. They were able to create a clay model that showed the location of the organs of this system as well as their function.

Great job to all for a fun and engaging activity!

Opening session of NC HOSA State Leadership Conference in the books! Sarah Barnard served as our flag bearer while Lanna Howell, Macy Baccus and Eleanor Howell cheered her on.

Tomorrow they take their written test for CPR/First Aid and Friday they compete in the skills challenge. Wish them luck......so very proud of them representing PCHS so well!

Lillie, Ava, Whitney and McKenzie did a great job preparing and teaching lessons on the muscular, skeletal and integumentary systems with Mrs. Sutton's OCS students. The guys did a great job and learned a lot!
