Meet Addison! She is this week's star student! Addison likes to play soccer and do math. Addison likes to eat spaghetti and the color teal. Addison wants to be a teacher when she grows up!

First Grade is when fun silences fear.

Six-year-olds have done this before
and the difference that makes is everything.

This year, they’re a little taller and wiser.
They know where the bathrooms are,
how to write their names,
and how to be part of a class.

They can (usually) zip their own coats and share their crayons.
And they can read a whole book by themselves—even if they whisper the hard words.

But first graders aren’t all business.
They still have both feet in the magic of childhood..
They wonder why rainbows show up after a storm
and how wishes know where to go.

It’s true—they’re braver now,
walking into class without holding your hand.
But they’re softer too,
because they know what it feels like to miss something or someone.

First grade is about growing—
friendships, dreams,
and that spark of “I can do it” that will carry them through life.

If you’ve ever loved a first grader, you know.
It’s like watching confidence grow wings.
And I never want to forget the wonder of it all.
