Milton S. Hershey once said, "It was natural for me to think of education and of orphans and boys whose mothers had hard times and wanted them to have the chance other boys had ... I wanted to get away from the idea of institutions and charity and compulsion, and to give as many boys as possible real homes, real comforts, education, and training, so they would be useful and happy citizens."
Over a century later, Milton Hershey School continues Mr. Hershey's legacy—serving more than 12,000 graduates. Learn more about his amazing gift: https://bit.ly/36KZ9Q4.

Milton Hershey believed children should grow up with the feeling that they have a real home. In 1926, the first cottage homes opened, bringing Mr. Hershey’s vision to life.
Now, 100 years after the first cottage homes welcomed students, that belief continues to guide Home Life at Milton Hershey School. From shared meals and daily routines to lifelong lessons and meaningful connections, students benefit from a nurturing home environment designed to help them succeed in school and in life.
