Homecoming Weekend is coming up, and we want to make sure you have everything you need to register, plan, and come home ready for a great weekend!

It is with the deepest sadness that we share the passing of Louise Bartenslager Swartzbaugh, a cherished member of the MHSAA Honorary Chapter, who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 95.
Louise was a former elementary school educator at Milton Hershey School, where she made a lasting impact on the students entrusted to her care. Her connection to MHS continued long after her years in the classroom, and we were honored to count her among the members of our Honorary Chapter.

Louise’s connection to our family also lives on through her daughter, Cristal Sheaffer, a former MHS educator and fellow member of the Honorary Chapter. We ask our MHS family to keep Cristal and her family especially close in thought during this time of loss, and to surround them with the care and support that have long defined our community.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, from 2–4 p.m. at Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hershey.
