Hello everyone, my name is Tish Buroker and I am the mayor of Riverton. Riverton has always been a community filled with patriotism and community spirit. This year is especially important because America is celebrating its 250th birthday. 250 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was signed, declaring America’s independence from Great Britain. I hope you have had a chance to drive past City Hall to see the large banners hanging from the building. As we celebrate this exciting milestone, we want you to join in the fun; that’s why we’ve created the America 250 “Passport to Freedom” booklet. Inside your passport, you will find eight fun city events and activities, including a coloring contest, a patriotic concert, a chalk art festival, a 1.776-mile run, and more. Each time you attend one of these events, you’ll earn a stamp in your passport. If you attend at least six of the eight events, you’ll receive a special limited-edition America 250 medal to celebrate your achievement. If you complete all eight events, you will be entered into a special prize drawing. Today, you will receive your passport from your teacher, and you can see what the medal looks like in the main office. Let the birthday celebration begin!

Juniper Families,
This is Mr. Yates. We have received some concerns about student safety during pick-up and drop-off times.
-Please make sure your students are ready to get out of the car before you enter the drop-off lanes.
-Please pull forward as much as you can in the pick-up/drop-off area. Students can exit the right side (Passenger Side) of the vehicle once you are on the school property.
-At any time during the day, please stay in your car while in the pick-up/drop-off lanes (Indicated by the red curb).
-If you need to leave your car, please park in the parking lot. Then use the crosswalks.
-If you are dropping off or picking up a student in our parking lot, please do not block other cars that are trying to leave a parking stall.
-Please follow all driving laws on the nearby streets. Do not block intersections, do not park on crosswalks, and please follow the speed limit.
-Please be kind and respectful to other drivers, crossing guards, teachers, and staff.
We are lucky to have one of the largest drop-off areas and parking lots in the district. The process of picking-up and dropping-off students is pretty efficient, but we can always improve the safety and convenience for everyone.
