Meet the Teacher:

Miss Alina was born and raised in the state of Utah and resides in Herriman City with her husband and three energetic children. She enjoys crafting, re-finishing furniture, scrapbooking, DIY projects and reading, but mostly, spending time exploring new places and gaining new knowledge with her family. Miss Alina received training and education in the field of Early Childhood Edu

cation through Western Governor’s University. Through this rigorous and rewarding coursework, she has had the opportunity to develop lesson plans, create classroom layouts, and has researched many methods of teaching theory and the liberal arts. She has been quite fortunate to have many teaching mentors along the way. Miss Alina believes children need to develop a balance of academic, social and emotional skills to prepare them for life’s experiences. Children are very enthusiastic to learn new ideas, however, they also need time for play. At The Glittered Apple Preschool, fun, learning, laughter, discovery, progress and a nurturing environment will be fully promoted and supported. Miss Alina's preschool program includes science, literacy and math concepts, art, music, and daily lessons about the world around us in a hands-on, student-guided learning environment. She incorporates activities that serve many different learning styles, such as, tactile, kinesthetic, visual, auditory, etc., as learning is simply not “one-size-fits-all.” Miss Alina is very willing to adjust to any learning style best suited for each student and loves parental feedback and involvement in this process. Having completed training for the “Handwriting Without Tears” Program, Miss Alina is very excited that she will continue incorporating this program into the 2016-2017 school year. *(See more information here: http://www.hwtears.com/hwt)

The Glittered Apple Preschool is licensed through Herriman City and Miss Alina is approved to operate an in-home preschool. Miss Alina is a member of the NAEYC (National Association of the Education of Young Children), NEA (National Education Association) and UEA (Utah Education Association). She is also certified in First Aid and CPR and holds a current food handler’s permit. Parents are truly their child’s first, and BEST, teachers. Miss Alina is looking forward to being a part of the team in joining you, and your child, in building a solid foundation for learning and future success!

Unfortunately, I will not be holding preschool for the 2018-2019 preschool year at this time, due to private matters that have come up. We are back at it again! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Fall Break!
I am SO proud of how hard these kiddos have been working on letter formation. It’s a slow and steady skill, and they give it their all!
Just a reminder that the Halloween Party is next Monday. Costumes welcome and if they would like to share a treat, we have 13 students. If your child does not typically attend on Mondays, they are still welcome to join us for the party. Thank you! 🎃

Good morning! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend :) Just a reminder that October tuition is due. For those who have already paid, please disregard. I can't believe we are already going into October! We will have a Halloween Party on Monday, October 30th. Costumes are quite welcome!! Each student can bring a treat to share, if they'd like (13 students in total). So excited for what we are learning this month! Have a lovely week! 🎃

We had a great first week of preschool! What a great group of kiddos! We are still learning how things work, the daily routine and getting to know each other. We have learned that, "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit!" Also, that we take turns, are respectful to others and their belongings, and that we want to try and make "happy choices," every day.
I will have September calendars tomorrow! Also, September's tuition is due. Please text me if you have any questions! Thank you! And thank you, Marian Rimington Nelson, for the adorable cookie! That was very kind of you!

Happy Solar Eclipse day, everyone! I'm happy to announce that due to the overwhelming support of beginning preschool on April 28th, that is exactly what we will do! I am prorating tuition for August to be $22.50 for 3-day students and $18.75 for 2-day students, then we will be back to regular tuition in September! I'm so very excited for this year. Please don't forget to mark your calendars for the Open House this Friday from 6-8 PM. See you then!

This is worth checking out! I spoke with an Upstart Representative last week, and he informed me that the parent training is coming up next month. I think this would be a perfect way to sit down with your child for 15 minutes each day to practice their kindergarten readiness skills. Perfect way to expand and solidify what they will be learning in preschool! Check it out....😉
