Bastian Elementary School - Herriman, UT

Bastian’s 3rd Graders enjoyed Kids Marketplace today! They learned about different careers, the importance of budgets, and how to manage money. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers! A fun day was had by all.

We loved having our guests read to our students! Thank you to our community members who joined us for this day!

Mrs. Thorn’s 1st grade class enjoyed going to the “Drive-In” as a class reward this past Friday!

Heidi Winslow has been teaching at Bastian Elementary for 5 years. Heidi loves to read, take her dog Zeke for walks, and be with her family. Zeke is named after a Dallas Cowboys football player. When asked why she loves Bastian, she says, "I love the staff at Bastian, but especially my 2nd grade team. I live in the Bastian boundaries so I love having a direct impact on the children in my community." Heidi is originally from Clifton, Idaho, and her graduating class had 40 students!

Our next Blazing Bronco is 4th grade teacher Mia Affleck! This is Mia's first year at Bastian, and she says, "I have felt so much support from families and the school community. Bastian has the best environment for learning and teaching!" When she's not teaching, Mia loves to read, run, and do anything crafty. She loves her senior dog and I got her when she was in fourth grade herself!

Please remember that Bastian Elementary Students do not have school on Friday, February 13th and Monday, February 16th.

Kindness Week: February 9th-12th
We are excited to celebrate Kindness Week at Bastian Elementary! Each day, we will be teaching and promoting acts of kindness in our classrooms and school. Each class will take part in a “100 Acts of Kindness” challenge! We hope you will encourage students to join us!

The President-Elect shadows the PTA President during the 2026-2027 school year. This individual then becomes the Bastian PTA President for the 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 school year. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in our school community!

Third grade teacher Jenniffer Green is our next Bastian Blazing Bronco! Jenniffer has been teaching at Bastian for over 5 years. She loves when past students say hello to her in the hall. Jenniffer loves spending time with her family. She also loves organizing. Jenniffer has two stepchildren and 4 (soon to be 5!) of her own kids. Her dad was in the Army, so she grew up all over. She lived in Germany for a total of 9 years! Jenniffer also loves all things Disney.
