Want your child to succeed in school, and in life? 📚

It starts with showing up. Daily routines at home help students build the academic skills and real-world habits they need to thrive. Here's how you can help:

- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine
- Pack bags and pick outfits the night before
- Talk through any school worries with a teacher, school counselor, or other parents
- Make a backup plan for getting to school if something comes up
- Schedule trips and appointments outside school hours when possible

Showing up is the first step to thriving academically, and parents play a crucial role in making every day count.

Need help in supporting your child's attendance? We have resources! Please contact your school counselor to talk it through.

In Virginia, all students aged five (5) through eighteen (18) are required to attend school regularly. FCPS must record student attendance every day school is in session.

Get ready to run, have fun, build confidence, and cross the finish line! The PTO is excited to bring Crossfield’s Kids Run the Nation (KRTN) team back this fall.



The KRTN program is open to girls and boys in grades 2nd–6th. A nationally recognized running program helps kids become stronger, healthier, and more confident through a fun multi-week curriculum—all leading up to an exciting celebratory 5K to wrap up the season!



Registration is $75 and includes a KRTN team T-shirt, swag, and students 5K race registration.

Registration opens September 1 — mark your calendars!



KRTN Practice Details:
📅 Tuesdays & Fridays
⏰ 7:45–9:00am
📍 Crossfield playground/basketball court area
🏃 First Practice: Tuesday, September 29



Want to help make KRTN a success as a Coach? We’re looking for parent and staff volunteers interested in coaching on one or both practice days. No running expertise required—just enthusiasm and a desire to encourage our young runners!
