Now offering SATURDAY DRUM LESSONS with Clark YongHak Lee! Clark has been playing the drums for more than 20 years and has over 17 years of teaching experience. In his native South Korea, he worked with and recorded with many famous pop artists. He has a passion for music education as well as performance. He has published three books on percussion technique and taught hundreds of students in seminars and lectures both in Korea and since immigrating to the US in 2016. He is currently the director of the Open Door Presbyterian Church (ODPC) Band Academy, a music program that operates with 20 musicians and 100 students every year. Dear students and parents: Now would be a good time to reiterate our snow policy.

First, we do not follow FCPS or LCPS schedules for snow days. Most music lessons happen in the afternoon and early evening when the day has warmed up and the roads have been cleared.

As you all know, regular lessons are essential for progress, so we will always be open unless there is an extreme blizzard. In the eight years we have been open, we have only had to close for weather twice. So, please always assume your lesson is happening at your regularly scheduled time unless you hear otherwise.

If we are ever forced to close, we will post it here. Please like/follow this page to assure you will get the message!

However, one thing we have all learned from the pandemic is that virtual lessons can be a good alternative when safety is a concern. Your individual teachers will contact you to set up this option when the weather is particularly bad. If you have any questions please email your teacher or us rather than call.

A word, now that children are getting vaccinated: There is no recording that can capture the sound of a live orchestra! If you want your children to love great music, make sure to take them!
Work started on the buildout of Music Spectrum School for the Arts during November 2012. But it really all started here, in the Eastman Theatre, in the love affair I have with great music that was birthed and nurtured by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
