These classes are built around exceptional children’s literature- award-winning books, enduring favorites, and rich stories worth talking about. Instead of treating reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar as separate subjects, great books become the spine of the course and the jumping-off point for everything else.

Students read memorable stories, discuss characters and themes, build vocabulary in context, strengthen comprehension, and write about ideas they have read and discussed. Grammar and language skills are woven into the work rather than taught through disconnected exercises.
