💙 Alumni Day 2026
Yesterday, we welcomed just under 100 alumni back to Nysmith for Alumni Day!
From reconnecting with former classmates and teachers to sharing stories from high school, college, and beyond, it was a wonderful reminder that while students may graduate from Nysmith, they never stop being part of the Nysmith family.
One of the greatest joys of the day is seeing generations of students return to the halls where so many memories were made and hearing about the incredible paths they have taken since.

🍩🎉 New Year, New Lounge Owners
With the 8th graders officially graduated, it didn't take long for our rising 8th graders to make themselves comfortable in the 8th Grade Lounge!
And what better day to become the oldest students in the building than on National Donut Day? 🍩
As they step into their new role as school leaders, we're excited to see what this class accomplishes in the year ahead. For now, though, they're enjoying a well-earned donut and settling into their new space.

🥞🎓 One Week Left!
Today, our 8th graders celebrated having just one week left at Nysmith with a special pancake breakfast made by our directors.
As graduation gets closer, moments like these are a reminder of just how quickly the years have gone by and how special this final stretch together really is.

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Rachelle Dorne to speak with our students about her late father, Arthur Dorne, and his experiences surviving the Holocaust.
Through personal stories and reflection, students were given the opportunity to connect history to real lives and experiences in a deeply meaningful way. We are grateful to Dr. Dorne for sharing her family’s story with our community.
