Cortona students and staff attended the Les Grands Ballets Canadiens performing of “Dancing Beethoven” at GMU. It was a lovely performing and the students were in awe!

Cortona Academy celebrated Valentines' Day with our annual cookie decorating party!! Some sweet creations were made.

Students enjoyed their field trip to the Natural History Museum for . They did an amazing scientific project led by the scientists there, focusing on the health of coral reefs. This is definitely something we will do again.

Cortona Academy will be closed Tuesday, January 16th due to snow! Enjoy your day off!

Our yearly December Cookie Swap was a tasty success!

Cortona Staff and students did a to the Library of Congress! It is one of the most beautiful sites on the National Mall.

Some of Cortona's helpful students joined the "Fall Clean-up Crew" to spruce up our outside and get ready for the Holiday decorations!

Cortona Academy Staff and Students enjoyed the beautiful opera "The Barber of Seville". Everyone was awed at the voices and the stage production!

Today we had our International Food fest! Students brought in homemade food including: Ethiopian, Irish, Indian, Spanish, Arabic, Peruvian, and American.

A group of students attended last weeks to the National African American Museum. Though sobering, the museum is a wonderful collection and the students were fascinated. We look forward to visiting again!

Spirit Week 2023 was a huge sucess!

Cortona visited Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House for last weeks Field Trip Friday, we had two very impressive tours, and we loved seeing all the architecture.

Some of our students, staff, and parents ventured out for our 1st to Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens. As always, we had a beautiful time, and already can't wait for our next visit.
