Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out the block party at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church! All are welcome!
The weather looks great for this Sunday!
See you there :)
FROM COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
T-SHIRT ALERT!
If you will be at our block party and happen to have a St. Tim’s Volunteer t-shirt, next Sunday would be a GREAT time to wear it because, if all goes well, we will have a number of newcomers to our campus who may be looking for a church member with their questions. Conversely, if you do have a shirt that you won’t be wearing, perhaps you would consider dropping it off at the church office during the week for someone else to use. Hope to see you there!

Friendly reminder: our Midland fundraiser orders are due this Friday, September 29th if you would like to participate. Participation is totally voluntary. All funds raised will be used for improvements to Henry Hall and towards our playground maintenance.
Many families use this opportunity to stock up on fun, unique gifts, wrapping supplies, kitchen gadgets, cook books, and more!!! Please take a moment to flip through the catalog and place an order if an item, or two, catches your eye!
Please reach out with any questions and/or we can be of further assistance. Happy shopping!

St. Timothy’s Pre-School in Herndon is looking for part-time lead teachers, assistant teachers, and substitute teachers for the 2023-2024 school year, particularly for our afternoon program. This is an excellent opportunity for stay-at-home parents and/or alumni parents who are looking for some extra income and a work schedule that lines up with FCPS holidays.
St. Timothy’s is a play-based preschool, and our primary objective is to provide a loving and nurturing environment where children can learn to respect and care for themselves and others without regard to gender, race, nationality, religious, or ethnic background. We are looking for people who enjoy the joy and wonder of playing with 2½ to 5 year olds and creating an enriched learning environment where the students often don’t realize that they are learning because they are having so much fun.
St. Timothy's is a family-friendly work environment, and we offer flexibility to meet parental or other family obligations. Contact us at [email protected] or 703-437-4767 for more information.

We can't believe we are saying it but.....our 2022-2023 school year is a wrap!
Our month of May was a whirlwind of activity! It started out with Teacher Appreciation Week, followed by Muffins with Mom, a Kona Ice party, end of year picnics and our Pre-K graduation ceremony. Yay for non-stop fun!
We cannot thank our students and parents enough for all the love, support, generosity, and thoughtfulness throughout the school year. We felt so happy and spoiled with all your efforts, treats, cards, and gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week! You really made each of us feel so special. Thank you so much for all your love and support.
We thank you for entrusting us with your precious children; it was an honor and privilege to care for, teach, and watch them grow this year. It's only been a couple days and we miss them already! We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you at camp, in the fall, or when you just stop by for a visit! Take care.

Today we had a very special guest: St. Timothy's Episcopal Church's Priest-in-Charge, "Mister Charles," shared the Christmas story with our students. On December 24, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church will have a Christmas Eve Family Service at 5:00, which includes a "No-rehearsal Christmas Pageant for kids, families and all ages." All are welcome!

In this time of giving thanks, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Kate Masters! Kate is a church member and parent of preschool alumni. Her presentation on the Powhatan Native Americans who lived in this area 400 years ago comes directly from her teaching days at the Jamestown Settlement living history museum (jyfmuseums.org). Who knew shells had so many different uses as tools? Or that hair was a privilege only granted to adults? Our students enjoyed the fascinating exploration into the lifestyle of these people who lived in what is now Virginia in the time when the first Thanksgiving celebration was held (much further to our north).

Thank you to Maj. Wilson, USAF, for an awesome Veteran's Day presentation! Our students had a lot of fun learning about veterans, airplanes, and some military traditions. Trying on the helmet was pretty cool, too! 😎We all salute you and thank you and all veterans for your service.

Meet our new Director :-)
(ENews that went out on 6/18, reprinted here with joy and congrats!)
Dear St. Timothy’s Parish Family,
On behalf of the St. Timothy’s Preschool Board, I am happy to announce that we have called Allyson Showalter to serve as our next Director for St. Timothy’s Preschool!
Many will know Allyson from her previous role as Assistant Director/ Teacher at the Preschool. Others know her as a long-time parishioner, vestry person, and lay leader at the church. All recognize her as a gifted educator, a capable leader, and the guiding hand that the Preschool needs at this time.
During the interview process, Allyson impressed the Hiring Committee with her judgement, her experience, and her obvious love for the children that make our Preschool so special. Filling the formidable shoes of Nora St. Arnold will be difficult, but the Preschool Board and I are confident that Allyson will build on the school's strong foundation into the future. As the Chairperson of the Board and as a soon-to-be Preschool Parent, I am delighted to make this announcement! Please join me in welcoming Allyson into this position.
I invite you to read Allyson’s letter below as she begins this new chapter as Director of St. Timothy’s Preschool.
Blessings,
Charles+
Dear Church Family,
I am excited and delighted to be selected as the next director of St. Timothy’s Pre-School! I have a long history with the preschool, first as a parent then as a staff member. Over more than a decade with the school I have held the positions of assistant teacher, head teacher, and assistant director, and I have been enriched by the guidance of three different and fantastic directors. Our school has a unique program that has given us a great reputation for preparing students for kindergarten and beyond. I look forward to preserving and cultivating that which makes St. Timothy’s unique and special, while adapting to changing state requirements for preschool programs and to changing family needs for both early childhood education and for day care. I'm honored to be given the opportunity to lead this outstanding school.
Allyson
