The St. Jude Memphis Marathon is this weekend and I’m still short of my goal.
Abbi’s story is the reason thousands of people will gather this weekend for awareness and to raise money for life saving research.
From Abbi’s mom:
The St. Jude Marathon began the same year our youngest daughter, Vivian Abigail, was born. At just five months old, our precious Abbi became a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. As the marathon grew each year, raising funds for better treatment options, Abbi fought her own battle, desperately needing those advancements.
For many years, Abbi watched the marathon from hospital windows or the lawn, feeling the love and energy poured out by the city and supporters of this incredible event. Each year, we watched the marathon grow, and each year, our family leaned on St. Jude for hope. Six years ago, after a courageous 16-year battle, we lost our beloved Abbi. Since then, our family has participated in the marathon from a different perspective, as a bereaved family determined to fight on for our daughter and all the children who have completed their portion of this unfair fight.
We invite you to join us! You can sign up for one of the four race courses for in-person participation in Memphis this December or participate virtually from wherever you are. You can also support us by donating to our Team Abbi page, where 100% of your contribution goes directly to St. Jude.
After completing our race, we gather at our Team Abbi Kisses From Heaven cheer station to encourage every participant as they approach the final stretch to the finish line. Runners will see the names and faces of our beautiful children, reminding them why we fight. You might even spot Elvis there, too!

I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families of St. Jude. I am training to cross the finish line on race day, and with your donation we can cross the fundraising finish line together because the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
