Small Seeds, Great Harvests
💬 Quote of the Day:
"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." — Vincent van Gogh
📖 Scripture:
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9 (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
A farmer invited a group of schoolchildren to visit his fields during planting season. Looking across the freshly turned soil, one child asked, "Where's the harvest?" The farmer smiled and held a single seed in his hand. "This is where every harvest begins," he replied. He explained that no one applauds the planting because it looks insignificant. Yet every basket of vegetables, every loaf of bread, and every field of grain begins with one seed faithfully placed into the ground. Months later, the children returned and were amazed by rows of thriving crops. The farmer reminded them, "The harvest didn't appear overnight. It grew because someone believed a small seed could become something much greater."
💭 Reflection:
We often underestimate the value of small acts of faithfulness. A simple prayer, an encouraging conversation, a generous gift, or a quiet act of obedience may seem insignificant in the moment. Yet God specializes in multiplying what we faithfully place into His hands.
Jesus frequently compared God's Kingdom to seeds because seeds represent potential. Every act of love you sow today has the possibility of producing fruit far beyond what you can presently imagine. Do not become discouraged if your efforts seem unnoticed. God sees every seed planted in faith. Trust Him to bring the harvest according to His perfect timing. Faithfulness today often becomes tomorrow's testimony.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me remain faithful in the small opportunities You give me each day. Teach me never to underestimate what You can do through simple acts of obedience. Strengthen my faith as I patiently wait for the harvest You have promised. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Plant one "seed of kindness" today through an encouraging word, a thoughtful note, or an act of generosity.

💙💛 31 YEARS OF LOVE, FAITH & PURPOSE! 💛💙

Today, Lottie and I celebrate 31 years of marriage—31 years of growing together, serving together, laughing together, weathering life’s seasons together, and trusting God together.

Looking back at these pictures reminds us that while the years have changed us, the foundation remains the same: faith in God, commitment to one another, and a love that keeps growing.

From two young people beginning a journey together to the life, family, ministry, and work we now share, we can truly say, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3

Lottie, thank you for being my wife, partner, friend, encourager, and constant companion through every chapter. I thank God for you and for the life we continue to build together.

Three decades. One covenant. And by God’s grace, a lifetime to go. ❤️

Happy 31st Wedding Anniversary to us! 🥂💍

Faith Over Fear
💬 Quote of the Day:
"Fear does not stop death. It stops life. Faith invites us to live." — Max Lucado
📖 Scripture:
"For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline." — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
A little girl stood nervously at the edge of a swimming pool during her first lesson. Although the instructor stood only a few feet away with open arms, she hesitated, afraid to jump. Her father quietly knelt beside her and said, "You don't have to know how everything will happen. You only have to trust the one who's waiting for you." With newfound courage, she stepped forward and leaped. When the instructor safely caught her, her fear immediately gave way to laughter. Later she admitted that the hardest part wasn't the jump—it was deciding to trust. Once she trusted, everything else became possible.
💭 Reflection:
Fear often convinces us to stay where we are, even when God is inviting us to move forward. It magnifies obstacles while minimizing God's promises. Faith does the opposite. It acknowledges the challenges but chooses to believe that God is greater than every obstacle before us.
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly encouraged His people with the words, "Do not be afraid." He never promised a life without challenges, but He consistently promised His presence in the midst of them. Whatever fear you are facing today, remember that you never face it alone. Trust the One who holds you securely. Faith may not remove every obstacle immediately, but it will give you the courage to take the next faithful step.
🙏 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, replace my fears with confidence in Your promises. Help me trust You even when the future seems uncertain. Fill me with courage, peace, and unwavering faith, knowing that You are always with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Identify one fear that has been holding you back and take one prayerful step of faith toward overcoming it today.

Choosing Joy Each Day
💬 Quote of the Day:
"Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God." — Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
📖 Scripture:
"The joy of the Lord is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10b (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
A hospital volunteer visited patients every Monday afternoon carrying a small basket of fresh flowers donated by local gardeners. One patient asked her why she smiled so much despite witnessing so much illness and suffering. She replied, "Joy isn't pretending everything is perfect. Joy is believing God is present even when life isn't." Her words stayed with the patient long after the flowers faded. Weeks later, he began encouraging other patients with the same hopeful attitude. What started as one volunteer's quiet ministry became a ripple of encouragement throughout the hospital. Joy proved to be contagious because it pointed people beyond their circumstances to the faithfulness of God.
💭 Reflection:
Happiness often depends upon what happens around us, but joy grows from what God is doing within us. That is why Scripture repeatedly calls believers to rejoice even during difficult seasons. Joy is rooted in the confidence that God remains faithful regardless of changing circumstances.
This does not mean Christians ignore pain or disappointment. Rather, we face life's challenges with the assurance that God is walking beside us. Joy strengthens weary hearts, inspires hope, and reminds us that our story is never defined solely by today's struggles. Ask God to fill your heart with His joy today. Your joyful spirit may become the encouragement someone else desperately needs.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the joy that comes from knowing You. Fill my heart with lasting peace that is not dependent on circumstances. Help me reflect Your joy in every conversation and every challenge I face today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Choose joy today by encouraging one person with a smile, a kind word, or a reminder of God's faithfulness.

A Heart Ready to Worship
💬 Quote of the Day:
"Worship is the believer's response to the goodness, greatness, and grace of God." — M.O.M.
📖 Scripture:
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise." — Psalm 100:4a (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
An elderly church pianist arrived nearly an hour before every worship service. Long before the sanctuary filled with people, she quietly played hymns while praying over every pew. When someone asked why she came so early, she smiled and said, "I'm not preparing the piano. I'm preparing my heart." Years later, many members remembered those peaceful moments before worship began. They said the music created an atmosphere where they could leave behind the worries of the week and focus on God. Her quiet preparation reminded them that meaningful worship begins long before the first hymn is sung. Hearts prepared in private often worship more deeply in public.
💭 Reflection:
True worship begins before we enter the sanctuary. It starts when we intentionally turn our hearts toward God with gratitude, humility, and expectation. Worship is not merely about singing songs or listening to a sermon. It is about offering ourselves completely to the One who has been faithful through every season of life.
As you gather with God's people today, resist the temptation to let distractions occupy your thoughts. Instead, remember His goodness, reflect on His mercy, and thank Him for His faithfulness. Every prayer, every song, every Scripture, and every moment of fellowship becomes richer when our hearts are fully engaged. Come expecting God to speak, encourage, challenge, and renew you. He delights in meeting those who sincerely seek His presence.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, prepare my heart for worship today. Remove every distraction and help me focus completely on You. Fill me with gratitude, renew my spirit through Your Word, and allow my worship to bring honor and glory to Your holy name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Spend five quiet minutes thanking God before worship begins today, focusing on His faithfulness rather than your needs.

The Gift of Generosity
💬 Quote of the Day:
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." — Winston Churchill
📖 Scripture:
"You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us." — 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
A young couple stopped at a local restaurant after church one Sunday. As they prepared to leave, they noticed an elderly woman quietly counting coins before paying for her meal. Without saying a word, they asked the cashier to cover her bill and left before she could thank them. Later that afternoon, the waitress shared that the woman had recently lost her husband and was struggling financially. She wept, saying, "Today I asked God to remind me that He hadn't forgotten me." The couple never heard her story, but God had already arranged the answer to her prayer. Their generosity became more than a financial gift—it became tangible evidence of God's loving care.
💭 Reflection:
Generosity is one of God's favorite languages because it reflects His own heart. Long before we ever gave anything to Him, He generously gave His Son for us. Every act of kindness, every offering, every meal shared, and every helping hand becomes an opportunity to demonstrate God's love in practical ways.
Generosity is not measured by the size of the gift but by the willingness of the heart. Some people can give money, while others offer time, encouragement, wisdom, or compassion. Each gift has eternal value when offered with love. Ask God to make you attentive to the needs around you. Someone's answered prayer may be waiting on your willingness to give. When we hold our blessings with open hands, God often uses them to bless far more people than we ever imagined.
🙏 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your generous love toward me. Teach me to give freely, serve joyfully, and bless others without seeking recognition. Open my eyes to opportunities to reflect Your kindness, and may everything I share bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Bless someone today with an unexpected gift, encouraging word, or act of generosity, expecting nothing in return.

Hope Always Looks Forward
💬 Quote of the Day:
"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." — Desmond Tutu
📖 Scripture:
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing..." — Romans 15:13 (NRSVue)
📚 Story:
Following weeks of heavy rain, a group of children eagerly waited for the clouds to clear so they could return to their neighborhood park. One morning, the sun finally appeared, and they rushed outside laughing as if they had discovered a brand-new world. An elderly neighbor watched from her porch and smiled. She later remarked, "Children have a wonderful way of believing sunshine is coming, even after the longest storms." Their excitement became a quiet reminder that hope always expects tomorrow to hold possibilities that today cannot yet reveal. Hope does not ignore the storm; it simply believes the storm will not last forever.
💭 Reflection:
Christian hope is far more than wishful thinking. It is confident expectation rooted in the promises and character of God. We hope because we know the One who holds our future. Even when life feels uncertain, God's faithfulness remains certain.
Every season eventually changes. Pain gives way to healing, grief gradually makes room for joy, and unanswered prayers often become unexpected testimonies. While we wait, hope gives us the strength to keep trusting, serving, and believing. If you feel discouraged today, lift your eyes beyond your present circumstances. The God who has carried you this far has not abandoned you now. Your story is still unfolding, and with God, the best chapter may still be ahead.
🙏 Prayer:
God of hope, thank You for reminding me that no storm lasts forever. Strengthen my faith, renew my joy, and help me keep my eyes fixed on Your promises instead of my problems. Fill my heart with confident hope as I continue trusting You each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🎯 Challenge:
Encourage someone today by sharing one way God has remained faithful in your own life.
