The program features Mendelssohn’s exhilarating Italian Symphony alongside works by Berlioz, Grieg, and Maurer, plus the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece by Los Angeles composer Jonathan Beard.

At yesterday’s SCSBOA Festival, the Mira Costa Orchestras achieved an incredible milestone: 10 consecutive years in which every orchestra ensemble has earned a Unanimous Superior rating, the highest possible distinction at adjudicated festivals.

This achievement reflects the extraordinary dedication of our students, the strength and continuity of our orchestra program across grade levels, and the unwavering support of the Manhattan Beach community.

Congratulations to our talented musicians and everyone who helps make this program thrive. Here’s to a decade of excellence and many more years of beautiful music ahead!

The All District Orchestra Festival is Thursday, February 5th at 6:30 pm in the MCHS Auditorium. This is a free concert featuring performances from Mira Costa's Orchestras, MBMS Orchestras and Elementary Strings.
