HBCSD recently hosted a special employee barbecue as a way to thank our dedicated staff. Employees were welcomed by a wonderful group of Hermosa Valley dads who generously volunteered their time to fire up the grill and serve lunch. We are grateful for their support and for helping create a fun and memorable event for our team!

🌊🏆 Congratulations to our Hermosa Valley School Point Break Award Winners!
At our final Flag Ceremony of the school year, we recognized our middle school students who earned the coveted Point Break Award — the highest honor in our W.A.V.E. program.
The Perfect Wave represents the surfer who stays on the board the longest because they consistently demonstrate all of the qualities needed for success. These students don't just show one or two of our W.A.V.E. expectations—they embody them all, every day.
We are incredibly proud of these outstanding 6th-8th grade students for their leadership, character, and commitment to making Hermosa Valley School a positive place to learn and grow.
🌊 Congratulations, Point Break Winners! Keep riding the perfect wave! 🤙

Our 5th grade students had an amazing Career Day, exploring 10 different careers and learning firsthand about the many opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. Some of the careers featured included firefighting, physical therapy, podcast leadership, creative direction in immersive entertainment, and defense technology, along with many others.
Students asked thoughtful questions, discovered new interests, and gained valuable insight into the education, skills, and experiences needed for a variety of professions. Hearing directly from professionals helped bring learning to life and encouraged our students to start thinking about the many paths their futures could take.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our parent and community volunteers for sharing your time, expertise, and career journeys with our students. Your presentations inspired curiosity, sparked conversations, and helped our students dream big about their futures!
