October & November’s EQ Theme:
Montessori Fundamentals
EQ Nannies are providing tailored care to individual families as well as those in our Nanny Share Program. This topic is a continuation on Respectful Parenting, which is embraced in this school of thought, as well as the RIE method, which we focused on in the last two months.
Our commitment to ongoing, well-rounded education and training is unmatched, and is imperative in raising emotionally intelligent adults.

August & September’s EQ Theme: RIE
EQ Nannies were busy learning and applying the RIE method, which emphasizes mutual respect and trust, cooperative communication, freedom of movement, independent play, and learning that is based on intrinsic motivation.
Unlike the Montessori approach, children are not constantly stimulated and pushed to meet specific milestones. Rather, learning occurs through self-guided exploration.

June & July’s EQ Theme:
Proper Praising & Behavior Reinforcement
EQ Nannies are practicing proper praising techniques with the understanding that over-praising children can have undesirable consequences, such as narcissism, overconfidence, lack of motivation, and much more.
The fact is, behavioral conditioning begins at birth, and consistent reinforcement is crucial in raising emotionally intelligent humans.

Rates start at $15/hr per family for up to two families receiving simultaneous care with no additional costs, including placement fees.
Once a placement has been made, each child receives care that is agenda-based and includes systematic tracking of progress relating to social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
NOTE: EQ Childcare Plus is a Nanny Service, not a referral agency. As such, we hire all our Nannies as W2 employees. In addition to providing excellent care, we cover employer & payroll taxes, withhold employee taxes, provide sick days, pay worker’s compensation & unemployment insurance premiums, offer retirement benefits, and handle all additional overhead. Moreover, our service is a qualifying Dependent Care FSA expense.

Play-Based Learning & Independent Play
EQ Nannies are facilitating learning through play and encouraging our little ones to play independently for age-appropriate periods of time.
According to Montessori experts, early childhood education largely consists of social and emotional development, which can be achieved through play-based learning in a relaxed yet somewhat structured environment that encourages freedom of movement and choices.
Further, independent play is important as it cultivates self-awareness, creativity, independence, confidence, cognitive and physical development, and more.

EQ Nannies are learning about sleep needs, various sleep-training methods, and working with families to develop sleep plans that ensure our children are getting adequate rest, which is essential for healthy development.

EQ Nannies are focusing on improving receptive and expressive language skills, which are the building blocks for all higher cognitive operations.
