Ten 8th Grade girls were able to attend Girls in Aviation at Bangor International Airport today as part of the second year of Girls in Aviation! Today, students visited with Lifeflight of Maine, the Army National Guard, and the Air National Guard's Aircraft and Rescue Fire Fighting Unit! We are so thankful to be able to partake in this opportunity!

We’re excited to have Samantha Lynn Photography offering mini photo sessions during the Hermon Middle School Craft Fair on Saturday, September 19!

Sessions will take place outdoors, weather permitting, with an indoor option available if needed.

🍂 Volunteers needed at our Annual Fall Craft Fair 🍂

We’re looking for parents and students to help out at the Hermon Middle School Fall Craft Fair on Saturday, September 19!

We would love some help at our entrance table to greet people and collect admission and raffle ticket money, and with cleanup afterward. This is a great opportunity to bring your middle school student with you to get some experience with community service and engagement! All funds benefit middle school students and staff.

On the morning of September 11, 2026, Hermon Middle School students and staff gathered for a brief assembly to honor and remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

During the presentation, students reflected on the history of that day and what it truly means to be an American. Together as a unified school community, everyone participated in a full recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. A school-wide moment of silence was also observed during the morning announcements.

The educational material provided to students as they entered the building today is attached. We commend our students for the immense maturity, dignity, and respect they demonstrated throughout this morning's remembrance.

May we never forget.

This morning, 6th-grade students participated in community-building activities! They played This or That, silently ordered themselves by birthdays, and did a Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge. The goal this morning was to build community and find common ground among peers as we start the school year! They were awesome!
