I like to visit the hearse shows any time I can, but sometimes I just can’t make it out to some of the good shows. I’m happy that groups like the good folks at Croydon Haunted Hollows and other people make sure to get pics and walkthroughs of the shows they attend.

Just this weekend, Mohnton Professional Car Club put on their annual show at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia and Croydon Haunted Hollows grabbed these great shots of the show. Thanks to everyone involved in putting on a great event.

Porsches aren't always on my radar but every once in a while a Unique one shows up and I can't help myself.

We had the chance to photograph this excellent Unique Automotive creation a few years back (Summer 2021 I believe) while attending a cruise on the main drag of Loudenville Ohio. The curves of this early 1960s Porsche Super 90 just flow perfectly and make for a fine looking car. Yeah, I'd drive this thing anywhere!

Enjoy!

Unique Automotive is so much more than just Unique cars. For me, Unique Automotive covers pretty much all Unique vehicles and all types of Unique transportation.

Along those lines, I had the chance yesterday to witness up close the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 as she traveled through the Western Pennsylvania area headed toward Ohio. Unique for sure! This 1,200,000 pound, 133 foot long (tender included), 4-8-8-4 locomotive is currently the World’s largest operating steam engine. Out of a total of 25 Big Boys built (4000 through 4024), there are only 8 total remaining Big Boys, and 4014 is the only one still operating.

Retired in the early 1960s, it sat at a museum in California until Union Pacific purchase it back and did a full restoration on it between 2013 and 2019 when Big Boy 4014 then helped to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. Big Boy 4014 is now on its first ever trip “East of the Mississippi” to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary and Big Boy 4014 had a layover to “celebrate” the 4th of July with a stop in Philadelphia.

There is so much more to learn about this historic locomotive than my short little blurb here.
I encourage you search for more info.

In 2023 we had the opportunity to stop by the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles in Boyertown Pennsylvania and check out all the Unique Automotive treasures to be found there.

One of my favorites was this most excellent 1958 Ford chassied Mister Softee ice cream truck with a body built by Boyertown Auto Body Works. It's such a fun and Unique design, but a design that all of us are probably familiar with. I can hear the music playing now as the truck rolls down the city streets looking for parched and overheated kids of all ages.

We’re going to jump back a few years to 2019 for today’s Unique Automotive feature.

I had the opportunity to photograph Brian’s 1959 Chevy Kingswood in 2019 while attending the International Station Wagon Club meet in Buffalo New York. Cadillac may have had the tallest fins in 1959 but Chevy released their own great fins on their ‘59 Chevys, being a wagon just makes this one that much better. Such an incredible vehicle!

While traveling, one of our favorite destinations that is always just filled with Unique Automotive creations is the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown Pennsylvania.

These pics are just an example of the 1,000+ Unique vehicles that can be seen in an actual retired mall full of Classic cars. These pictures were captured during our visit in 2025 and one of the best things about The Mall is that regardless of how many times you visit, there are always new cars on display and for sale. What do you see that you might like to take home? I can't wait to get back out there!

What's more Unique than a Studebaker?
How about a Studebaker Daytona Wagonaire?

I am definitely smitten with wagons in general, but the Studebaker Wagonaire has to be one of the more Unique wagons that I can think of. It's a good looking car in general but add in that retractable roof and you have a true Automotive masterpiece. It was my pleasure to be able to photograph not only this one, but two Wagonaires in person during the 2022 International Station Wagon Club Annual Meet in Staunton Virginia.

Tri-Five Chevys and ‘57/‘58 Fords seem to be the popular, desirable cars of the fifties, I think the Mopars sometimes get forgotten.

It’s always nice to see the more Unique cars from the fifties out and about so when this ‘55 Plymouth made an appearance at a local cruise here it was instantly a hit. I’ll take late ‘50s Chrysler fins over the rest any day!

At a recent, local cruise, I had the Unique opportunity to photograph two Fords from the same general era. It got me thinking…

Both of these Fords are Unique Automotive masterpieces in their own right, but which one is more Unique in your opinion? I’d drive either one with pleasure, but would you rather tool around in the customized 1920s T-Bucket or would you rather cruise in the original appearing 1930 Ford? Hmmm… I’m not sure which one I would prefer if I were forced to make a decision.

During my walk through video of the Professional Car Society's International Meet, a comment was made that I should have slowed down when passing the Imperial Limousine.

For the people interested in seeing more, I'll take today to make Patrick's 1981 Chrysler Imperial Limousine built by American Sunroof the Unique Automotive feature. One of three built, this one was on loan to Hollywood for a while, appeared in movies, and was used by Burt Reynolds as personal transportation, before being retired and sold to the public by Chrysler. It now resides in a personal collection and is being well taken care of.

Enjoy!
