EOU has been awarded $1.296 million through Oregon's Rural Health Transformation Program to help build the next generation of healthcare professionals for rural Oregon.

The two-year grant will expand healthcare career pathways for students across eastern Oregon.
By investing in local students, EOU is helping address one of rural Oregon's greatest challenges: growing a healthcare workforce that understands and is committed to serving rural communities.

Big News for Eastern Oregon University!

We are thrilled to announce that EOU's online Master of Social Work (MSW) program has officially achieved Candidacy Status from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Board of Accreditation!

This major milestone marks our commitment to providing high-quality social work education that prepares graduates to support individuals, families, and communities across Oregon and beyond. Developed to address critical workforce shortages in behavioral health, healthcare, and schools, this program is designed to strengthen social services specifically in rural and underserved areas.

"This achievement reflects years of dedication and collaboration among faculty, staff, university leadership, and community partners," says MSW Program Director, Christine Saladino.

EOU Foundation scholarship applications are open for a second cycle July 1-31.

Admitted and enrolled EOU students who did not apply during the winter cycle can submit an application through the Scholarship App tile in the my.EOU portal.

Already applied during the winter cycle? You do not need to re-apply. Your application will still be considered.

Eastern Oregon University is proud to join the Rural Student Success Network, a national initiative led by Ithaka S+R and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and supported by ECMC Foundation.

As one of 16 rural-serving institutions selected for this two-year project, EOU will collaborate with peer colleges and universities nationwide to advance student success, strengthen transfer pathways, expand support for adult learners, and align academic programs with regional workforce needs.
