I had the pleasure of leading a deep dive into Artificial Dyes and Patina today with some great Ag/FFA folks at Imbler High School. We started the day in the classroom learning about the different products, techniques, and safety practices involved in coloring and finishing metal. Then we headed to the shop—and even outside the shop—to put those ideas into action.
There were plenty of colors, creativity, and a few “I didn’t know metal could do that!” moments throughout the day. It was awesome to watch everyone experiment with new techniques and brainstorm ways to bring more artistic metalworking projects into their programs.
Thanks to everyone who attended and to Imbler High School for hosting. Days like these remind me that Ag teachers and FFA advisors are some of the most innovative people around. Now go make some cool stuff—and if it turns purple when it wasn’t supposed to, just call it artistic expression! 😄 (pictures don’t do justice on how they look)
