My goal as a teacher is to share my musical knowledge and skills in order to create a long lasting appreciation of and love for music. I am committed to a high standard of musicianship and quality teaching, tailored to fit the individual needs and interests of each student. I expect the same level of commitment from my students. I am further committed to continuing my own education as a musician i
n order to better help my students learn. I enjoy giving students a love for all types of music and encourage them to use it as a creative form of expression at the piano and away from it. My approach to teaching combines aspects of foundational reading and technique skills, theory, ear training, musicianship, composition, improvisation, and music history, all with an emphasis on discovering and expressing musicality, emotions, and the unique personalities of each student. I offer weekly private lessons to students ages 7 through adult, beginner to advanced, at my home studio located in Hermiston, OR. Contact me for more information and to schedule a student interview!
