That’s a wrap on FFA Week!
We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who was involved and helped make this week such a success. A special thank you goes out to our alumni for sponsoring the Work Auction. The money raised from this event helps our chapter continue to grow and do even greater things.
We’d also like to thank our staff and faculty for allowing us to host our events. Without your support, none of our great ideas would be possible. And finally, a big thank you to our advisors for everything you do for us students. It truly does not go unnoticed!
Weekly Recap
Monday: Selected students participated in Cow Tongue Toss, which was definitely a memorable way to start the week.
Tuesday: It was Truck Tuesday. Students were encouraged to drive their trucks to school, where they were judged in five categories: newest, oldest, cleanest, dirtiest, and farm truck.
Wednesday: We held Dress a Lamb. A big thank you to Mrs. Adkins for letting us borrow her sheep. Selected students dressed up their lambs, and the student body voted for the best dressed.
Thursday: Excitement was high during our Milk Chugging Contest. Selected students had to chug milk from a calf bottle, and the fastest time won.
Friday: Our highly anticipated Pie Eating Contest took place. Representatives from each class raced to finish a pie (whipped cream) the fastest. Congratulations to our winners, Kora and Gary, who earned the chance to pie either Mrs. Gordon or Henry.
Saturday: We wrapped up the week with our annual Work Auction. This event helps fund chapter activities and provides scholarships for our graduating seniors. We also hosted a free-will donation pancake feed, with sausage graciously donated by Smithfield. Students were then auctioned off, and our highest-selling student was Jax, who sold for $350.
We are so grateful to everyone who participated, donated, and supported us throughout the week. FFA Week would not be possible without this amazing community.
