We had such a special moment at preschool today! 🧘‍♂️🌿

Our 10-year-old homeschooled son had the opportunity to lead the preschoolers through their yoga practice. It was so sweet watching the children follow along, listen to him, and experience something a little different from their usual yoga time with us.

This is one of the things we love most about holistic education—learning is about so much more than academics. It’s also about confidence, leadership, movement, emotional well-being, connection, and giving children meaningful opportunities to learn from one another.

The preschoolers practiced yoga today, while our son got to practice something equally important—confidence and leadership. 💛

We wanted to share the video with you because it was such a beautiful little moment in our school day and a perfect example of what holistic learning can look like in real life. 🌱

Today was our first day of preschool for the new school year! 🌿

We began with a slow morning in the garden, giving everyone time to explore, connect, and ease into the day. Our children did an amazing job learning the routines and rhythms of our preschool.

We couldn’t be more proud of the new friends who have joined our school family. We are so excited for all the growing, learning, playing, and meaningful moments this year will bring! 💛

Today, we shared one last Sun Salutation and repeated our class mantra together before saying “see you later” to the last of our kindergarten graduates. ☀️

These little moments feel so big—the familiar movements, the words we have spoken together all year, and the realization that another beautiful chapter has come to an end.

We are so proud of how much these children have grown in confidence, kindness, courage, and independence. Watching them leave our preschool nest is always bittersweet, but we know they are ready to shine wherever their next adventure takes them.

This is never goodbye—only see you later. 💛

Mr. Brad and Mrs. Jess brought tadpoles from their pond at home for this particular mindfulness lesson. 🐸🌿
The children observed tadpoles at different stages of metamorphosis and talked about how change happens slowly, one small step at a time. Just like tadpoles, children are always growing, learning, and becoming. Some changes are easy to see, while others are happening quietly beneath the surface.
We continued this practice through yoga, moving through the life cycle of a frog. We began as tiny eggs curled up in Child’s Pose, became tadpoles stretching in Cobra Pose, and then grew legs as we moved into Malasana, or Frog Squat. Finally, our little frogs hopped joyfully around the room!
Through movement, mindfulness, and observation, we practiced slowing down and remembering that everyone grows in their own time. Nature continues to be one of our greatest teachers at Conscious Child Preschool. 💚

Today’s mindfulness lesson began with a beautiful gift from nature—an empty bird’s nest that had fallen from a tree. 🪺
The children slowed down, took mindful breaths, and carefully observed the tiny twigs, grass, feathers, and soft materials woven together. We talked about how birds build their nests patiently and with intention one small piece at a time.
We then connected the nest to our own school community. Loving words, kindness, patience, helping hands, and friendship are all important ingredients that help us build our own nest—our school—into a safe, peaceful, and loving place for everyone.

These are the meaningful lessons that unfold naturally at a nature-based school, where the world around us becomes the classroom. 💛

We cherish the relationships that continue long after children leave our classrooms, and this event is a wonderful reminder that once you're part of the Conscious Child family, you'll always have a place in our community.

✨ A Rare Enrollment Opportunity! ✨
We unexpectedly have two full-time openings available at Conscious Child Preschool for this upcoming school year. Class begins August 3, though there is space to begin immediately.
The children originally scheduled to begin are still working toward preschool readiness, including independent potty training, and their families have decided to give them a little more time.
Because our program typically has a long waitlist, openings like this are very rare! If your child is potty trained and ready for a nurturing, play-based, nature-centered preschool experience, we would love to hear from you.

Today was our first morning back after summer break, and it felt so good to be together again! ☀️

After a week of vacation, we were so excited to come back and pick all of this beautiful produce from our garden! 🌱🍅🥒

We’re very happy to be back and excited to enjoy the rest of the summer together!
