Morrow County School District is located in rural north central Oregon. Morrow County is bordered on the north by the beautiful Columbia River and by the Umatilla National Forest on the southern border. The county encompasses more than 2,000 square miles with a growing population of over 11,000 in the four main communities of Boardman and Irrigon, along the Columbia River, and Heppner and Lexington, in the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

Registration for returning students will open Monday 8/17 at 8:00am. Parents/guardians please watch your email for the family specific registration link!.
New student registration (including kindergarten students) will begin on Wednesday 8/19. Families will have to begin the registration process by going into the specific school.

Exciting progress for our schools!

The Morrow County School District Board has selected Fowler General Construction to move forward with the Heppner K-12 Campus remodel and expansion. This is the final project funded by the voter-approved school bond.

The updated campus will bring all Heppner students together in one location, with new classrooms, an auxiliary gym, wrestling room, additional parking and more.

Design continues through 2027, with construction expected to begin in 2028.

Morrow County School District celebrated its Crystal Apple Award winners at the "Excellence in Education" Awards banquet on Monday, May 11.

Tina Crowell is a school-based counselor at Windy River Elementary.

Jennifer Pope is an English Language Learners (ELL) teacher at A.C. Houghton Elementary.

Stefanie Spivey is a social studies teacher at Heppner Jr./Sr. High School.

Dave Fowler was presented with the Legacy Award this year. Dave is a Manufacturing teacher at Heppner Jr./Sr. High School. Having taught at the school for 37 years, his commitment to high-quality instruction and dedication to students helped build a strong Technology and Manufacturing program at the school. Thank you for your years of steadfast service to the Morrow County School District.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and four amazing educators from the Morrow County School District were named Crystal Apple Award winners this year. They will be recognized at the 2026 Crystal Apple Awards on May 11, 2026.

Tina Crowell, Jennifer Pope, and Stefanie Spivey received the Crystal Apple Award. Dave Fowler was a Legacy Award recipient this year, due to his many years of dedicated service to Heppner Jr./Sr. High School.
