๐Ÿ“š Did You Know? #4 | Henrietta ISD

Did you know that every year Henrietta ISD hosts our Back to School Bash to help students start the school year on the right foot?

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, local churches, businesses, and volunteers, students receive school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, and other essential items to help them begin the year ready to learn and succeed.

This event is a true example of what makes Henrietta so specialโ€”our community coming together to support kids and families.

A very special THANK YOU to Shannon Fletcher and Sharon Fitts for the countless hours they dedicate to coordinating this amazing event each year. Your leadership and servant hearts make a lasting impact on our students and families.

Together, we're making sure every Bearcat has a great start to the school year!

Did You Know? #3 โ€“ Grow Your Own Program

Did you know that Henrietta ISD is investing in the future of education by helping both our students and staff become certified Texas teachers!

Through our Grow Your Own initiative, we are creating multiple pathways into the teaching profession:
โœ… High school students gain valuable classroom experience through Education & Training practicum courses while working alongside our teachers.
โœ… Current paraprofessionals can receive financial support through local district funding and the new Texas LASO 4 Grant to help pay for college courses as they earn their teaching certification.

These opportunities provide financial support while preparing the next generation of educators who will make a difference in the lives of students for years to come.

Grow your own. Build relationships. Create opportunities. Impact students for a lifetime. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›

DID YOU KNOW? #2 P-TECH Early College High School

Henrietta ISD is committed to removing financial barriers so our students can get a head start on college.

โœ… We pay 100% of the tuition for all dual credit courses taken by students in our P-TECH Associate Degree Pathway.

โœ… We also pay for the core dual credit courses taken by all Henrietta High School juniors and seniors.

That means our students can earn valuable college creditโ€”and many can even graduate with an Associate Degree or significant college hours before they receive their high school diploma.

๐Ÿ’› A special thank you to Kim Morris, who does an outstanding job overseeing our P-TECH Associate Degree Pathway and helping students successfully navigate the program.

๐Ÿ“ž Interested in learning more?
Reach out to Kim Morris or Brandy Wiley, Henrietta High School Counselor, for more information about how students can take advantage of these incredible opportunities.

Did you know that Henrietta ISD has an Ambassador Academy? ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

Our HISD Ambassador Academy is an 8-month leadership program designed to give community members a behind-the-scenes look at how our school district operates. Participants learn about everything from school finance and district governance to student opportunities, bond projects, and legislative issues.

The goal is simple: to build informed community leaders who become strong advocates for our students, staff, and schools.

This program helps strengthen the partnership between Henrietta ISD and our community because we believe that when our community understands our schools, we all grow stronger together.

A special thank you to HISD School Board Vice President Betty Ellsworth for her leadership and dedication in guiding our Ambassador Academy. Her passion for public education and commitment to building strong community relationships have helped make this program a tremendous success!
