There are moments during our school day that we wish we could tell the world when something great happens. Today, one of those moments happened with Mrs. Kaufman, one of our staff members. She was monitoring in our chromebook room while students were picking them up this morning.

Carter told her, 'Do you see that boy?' Mrs. Kaufman helped him identify that it was Jaime, who was had come in to get his chromebook. She asked him, 'what about him?' Carter said, 'He's a nice person.' So we had Mrs. Kaufman help Carter find Jaime later in the day, so he could tell him in person.

Character and leadership are the traits that happen when you don't know others are watching. We are so proud that Jaime is that type of leader and role model to all of our students at HJH. He doesn't do it for the recognition, but because it's the right thing to do!

October is Bullying Prevention Month and we all play a part in teaching children how to show kindness, empathy, and respect for others. Throughout this month, we will be sharing tips and information on resolving conflict, how to stand up for others, and standing up for yourself. As always, if you or your child need to report bullying, you have two ways to do so: 1. In Person (tell the teacher, counselor, or administrator), 2. Anonymously through the "Report Bullying" link on your child's campus webpage.

We are so grateful for our custodial staff here at HJH! They are the crew that works behind the scenes but have a job where the results are so visible. The care and attention they have exhibited in our short time at our new location is exceptional. No request is too small or big! This team takes pride in their services.

THANK YOU!

Free & Reduced-Price Meals Reminder!
The 30-day carryover period for Free & Reduced-Price Meal benefits from last school year has now expired.
If your family received Free & Reduced-Price Meal benefits last year and you would like to see if you qualify again for the current school year, you will need to submit a new application.
Already received an approval letter from Mrs. Brown for this school year? There is no need to reapply. Your current-year eligibility has already been approved.
For families who still need to apply, the process is quick and easy online through MySchoolApps:
https://www.myschoolapps.com/Home/PickDistrict?ZipCode=76365&State=
We encourage families who may qualify to complete an application as soon as possible.
Questions about the application or eligibility? Please contact Brittanie Brown at [email protected].
