Last night (11/4/22) was the last regular season performance of your Marching Godwin Eagles show for this year. It was also senior recognition night for your Senior Marching Godwin Eagles. As is tradition, the yearly reading of the “Warm and Fuzzy Tale” took place, along with all Marching Godwin Eagles being presented their “warm and fuzzy”, hand crafted by your Marching Godwin Eagles Color Guard. You can spot your seniors wearing their special head gear for the performance. And speaking of performances, enjoy some photos of the special show start by your Marching Godwin Eagle Drum Majors.

There are 2 slots open for Non-Senior parents to serve dinner. Please sign up if you are free!

Senior dinner is at 5pm in the library for all invited guests.

It will be chilly in the stands tonight! After we perform, students will return to busses to drop off uniform tops and change into warmer clothing. Warm hats and gloves are recommended - as well as stadium blankets to sit on or wrap around!

I just lost a pit person for VBODA on Thursday. Please sign up if you’d like the spot. You’d need to be at school by 4:00 to load, we depart at 5 and won’t return until about 11:30.

Spiritwear update: my rep has told me that he has directed his people to give everyone that got the string bag with the embroidery through the pocket a refund, so please look for those. If you were one of the four people that had a problem with your vinyl or personalization on another item those are being redone, but he also said he was going to issue refunds for those.

A few volunteer updates:

1. We have found that if our regular pit volunteers handle the panels and chaperones roll out other equipment we will not need additional sign ups for panels. If you sign up for chaperone please come willing to help out as needed.

2. On Senior night only (11/4) we will need chaperones to arrive in time to serve the game day meal to underclassmen. The food committee will be serving the Senior dinner meal to Seniors and their families.

Last night (10/14/22) was eighth grade night and your Marching Godwin Eagles hosted prospective Middle School musicians from Godwin feeder schools to see what it’s like being a Marching Godwin Eagle. So enjoy these photos, some of which, from a different angle. And don’t forget to come out to the Godwin Marching Invitational today (10/15/22) from 1pm to 9pm here at Godwin.

Game Day Chaperones & Pit Crew 2022

Fingers are crossed that the panels for the show arrive this week. To support the placement of them during the show we have added a "pit adjacent" job to the sign up. The Halftime/Competition Support role is a short tern job that only takes up about 30 min, immediately prior to the start of the show, during and immediately after. It's a great job for a parent that doesn't have a lot of time to volunteer but often comes to the games or competitions to watch. Requires the ability to lift approximately 40 lbs. I have currently only added the slots to Friday's game, the Invitational and the Showcase in case we don't really need that many people.

We also have one chaperone spot open for Friday's home game( edit: chaperone spot has been filled), and regular pit spots for the Showcase next Monday. PIt crew makes a great date night for couples. 😆 Just ask the Hahns or Brunings!

GOOD MORNING, ALL! Happy Saturday and happy competition day! What a week it’s been, especially these last few days. We are so grateful to see Ian head out of town.

Our day of preparations have already begun and we can’t wait to see you this afternoon! We’ll post and announce this throughout the day, but figured it’s one thing everyone could check off their list ahead of time.

Our Showcase Team is keeping a very close eye on the weather and have contingency plans in place. At this time we are hopeful that, just like last year when inclement weather loomed, we will still be able to proceed as planned outside. We will move the competition indoors if necessary. 🎶
