Rising 7th Grade Immunization Clinic

Rising 7th grade students have started to receive a letter and consent form for the immunization clinic on Thursday, March 6th.

If your child has these vaccines, shot records can be turned in by email (jdwashington@ henrico.k12.va.us), fax or the student can bring in a copy.

Return consent forms by Tuesday, March 4th. we will have some forms available at the clinic.

March Academic Rewind Sessions

We will be offering Academic Rewind Sessions on March 3rd, March 5th, March 11th and March 13th.

Students MUST be registered for each session in order to attend. This allows us to adequately prepare with supervision and snacks.

It's Time To Get That Denim Together!

Lets keep the winning streak going! For the past three years, we have won second place in the Goodwill Denim Drive. THIS YEAR, lets take the top prize!

Drop off ANY denim items (all sizes, all brands, bottoms, tops, men, women or children) to the FMS front office daily until April 22rd.

Thank you for all your patience and support as we have navigated several school closures this winter! From March 3rd - March 26th, our school day will be extended by 20 minutes. The 20 minutes will be added to our advisory block. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best educational experience for our students, we will be re-rostering our advisory classes.

This change is aimed at offering targeted remediation, small group tutoring, and enrichment opportunities to our students based on multiple data points, including academic performance, assessments, and teacher recommendations. Our goal is to ensure that each student receives the support and challenges they need to thrive. By tailoring our advisory classes, we can better address individual learning needs and help all students achieve their full potential.

Our adjusted bell schedule we will follow from Monday, March 3rd - Wednesday, March 26th is below.

1ST Lunch: 12:25 pm – 12:45 pm
2nd Lunch: 12:48 pm – 1:08 pm
3rd Lunch: 1:11 pm – 1:31 pm
4th Lunch: 1:34 pm – 1:54 pm
Block 4th/8th: 2:14 pm - 3:35pm (81 min)

Students will continue to enjoy club time every other Friday from 8:35am-9:05am before returning to advisory for academic supports. This also includes our students that participate in the intramural basketball league.

Due to the change in our bell schedule during this time, we will also being extending our early dismissal cut-off to 3:00pm.

We understand that changes can sometimes be challenging, and we appreciate your support and understanding as we implement these adjustments. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our Black History Celebration, Dominating The Decades, will now be on Monday, March 10th @ 6:30pm. Our amazing PTSO will still be selling delicious soul food dinners! This is an event you don't want to miss!

This is a reminder that in order for students to receive their grade as well as be marked present for the asynchronous learning snow days on February 11th and February 12th, the assignments are due on the following days:
• Work for February 11th is due on February 25th
• Work for February 12th is due on February 26th

If you or your Falcon has questions or need additional support regarding these assignments, please contact your Falcon's teacher, grade level school counselor, or administrator.

8th grade students who applied to a specialty or ACE center will have online access to confirm their acceptance TODAY, February 14th, at 4:30 pm.

Valentines Day Gift Reminder

This is a friendly reminder that balloons, large stuffed animals, vases of flowers and any items that may be a distraction to the learning environment ARE NOT allowed at school.

Please DO NOT have items delivered to campus for students.

2026-27 School Calendar Survey (ends Feb. 16): Even though we may still be counting snow days, it's time to start considering an instructional calendar for the year after next. Please take a moment to look at the proposals for the 2026-27 school year calendar, and let us know what you think by Feb. 16. Your feedback will inform the final recommendation brought to the School Board for consideration later this spring.
