When you are selecting your courses for next year, SIGN UP FOR BAND! We have both auditioned and non-auditioned ensembles at Freeman. Auditions will be held in the spring for our select ensembles, so for now, students should sign up for one of the Concert Band classes. In the course selection program, that class is called HS Advanced Band. The course numbers are 9234B, 9234W, or 9234P. The letters stand for Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion. Your student should select the course appropriate for their specific instrument. If you are not sure which class to choose, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Band Director Rob Blankenship:[email protected]

o 28-31, 8am - 5pm - BAND CAMP (Full Band and Color Guard)

o 1, 8am - 1pm - BAND CAMP (Full Band and Color Guard)
o 4-7, 8am - 5pm - BAND CAMP (Full Band and Color Guard)
o 8, 8am - 1pm - BAND CAMP (Full Band and Color Guard)

Freeman High School show choir is hosting a camp for music/dance inclined kids in grades 4-12 on Dec. 8. See post for details!

Please join us for Spirit night this Thursday 10/17, 5-10pm at Sloop John B at Regency mall. You can dine in, take out, or stay for a parent meet and greet! Be sure to mention that you are supporting TMS when you dine in or order online. The parent meet and greet will be from 6-8pm.

Our first PTA meeting of the year is Tuesday 10/15 at 6pm in the library. All are welcome.

All Middle School band students from TMS are welcome (both the Intermediate and Advanced band students in 7th and 8th grade).

The DEADLINE for all Intermediate and Advanced Middle School Band students to sign up for this event is THIS FRIDAY, September 27. Students will receive a pizza dinner, band t-shirt ,and a fun night with the Freeman Marching Band students.

This Thursday 9/19, Dr Jonathan Haidt, award-winning author of The Anxious Generation, will convene a livestream chat. The event will be broadcast live at Tuckahoe Elementary 7-8pm. Dr Haidt will discuss teen mental illness, social media and cell phone use and how we can restore childhood play and independent exploration. Please RSVP via the link found in comments below.
