🍎 Welcome back, North Run Baptist Preschoolers! 🍎

All of our classes successfully completed their first week of school, and we couldn’t have done it without your love and support! 🤩🥰🫶🏼

🍎 Our 4-year-old classes became familiar with their school and the important places they visit throughout the day by participating in a fun Pete the Cat scavenger hunt!

🍎 Our 3-year-old classes had so much fun learning, playing, making new friends, and becoming comfortable with their new classroom routines! ❤️

North Run PreK hopes everyone had a wonderful Labor Day! We’re so excited to welcome all of our sweet friends back tomorrow for another fun-filled day of learning, playing, and making memories together. We can’t wait to see everyone! 🤩🥰❤️

Happy Tuesday Families!

The past two week 4 year old classes wrapped up the final letter of the alphabet — ⭐️ Letter M ⭐️ … all 26 letters complete!!! 🎉📚✏️ What an exciting milestone for our students! 👏🏼

We learned all about:

💖 Mommies & Babies – Our Petting Zoo visited the school and brought lots of adorable adult and baby animals for the students to meet and learn about! 🐐🐰🐥🐑
☔️A Walk in The Rain - Listening Activity
👾 Silly/Funny MoNsTeRs
🌮 Cinco de Mayo
🐒 We counted bananas for the monkeys! 🙊🍌
🚔Henrico County Police Department came to visit Notth Run!
📚 Books we read this week:
• The Monster at the End of This Book (starring lovable Grover!)
• Nibbles the Book Monster by Emma Yarlett
• Walk & See ABC by Rosalind Beardshaw
• I’m ME! by Sara Sheridan
• We Are Monsters by Mary Packard
• Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley

🎶 In music, we sang “Do You Know the Muffin Man?” and played maracas in class! 🪇🎼🎵

🪺 Made bird nests with mama birds and watercolor eggs
🧲Magnetic or Not Activities
👾 Completed monster following-direction activities
🔢 Practiced writing shapes and finding numbers to “dot”
🦋 Painted our “pretty butterflies” for the graduation program using paint symmetry
🍕 Enjoyed our End-of-the-Year Pizza Picnic together!
🌱 Completed a spring planting sequencing activity after watching our real seeds sprout and grow into plants

We packed so much learning and fun into this exciting week! ❤️

Letter O for ocean week for the 4’s:

📖Read lots of ocean books like “Over in the Ocean” - Students learned all about hermit crabs, octopus’, seahorses & more.🐚🐙🌊🦀🦈🪸🦑
🔎Classes observed sea shells together🐚
🦀 Students had a blast moving like sea animals in class—crab walking, swimming like fish, and singing Baby Shark while pretending to be sharks! 🦈🐟
🐚 Sandy Hermit Crab Craft- Classmates glued sand on their hermit crab’s shell.
🐙 CheeriO Counting O’s Octopus
🪸Watercolor Seahorses & Clams
🦀🪸Seahorse Coloring Worksheet
🐳Hide and Seek
🐚Students ordered numbers 1-20 and glued them onto their shell page.
🎲Played lots of fun counting & matching games

🦋 “Spring is in the Air” Picture – Our students wrapped up their activity by carefully gluing their butterflies and caterpillars onto their beautiful spring scenery. Such a fun way to bring their artwork to life! 🌸🌿

Happy Wednesday!!

Thank you all for attending our Art Show this past week. We are all so proud of each and everyone one of our students for all the hard work they put into making their masterpieces! 🎨🙌🏻

The past week 4yr old’s enjoyed Zz week:

🦍Read “Good Night, Gorilla”
📚 Read “Giraffes Can’t Dance”- Students painted their own giraffe yellow and then rolled on brown “spots”.

🐛Caterpillar craft- Students made their own caterpillars
🐛 “If I were a caterpillar, I would eat….” - Class activity
📖Bible story was all about Zacchaeus. We painted a tree for him to climb up and then we made a string to pull him up!!! So fun! We sang all about Zacchaeus too!!
📖 Read “Put Me in the Zoo” by Robert Lopshire and made our own yellow polka-dotted dog like from the book.
