On Friday, our CEO, Damon Jiggetts visited Blessings For You Childcare And Learning Center and got to hang out with the Pre-K class. They were busy in their summer themed room “swimming” for letters, playing frisbee golf and corn hole, grilling burgers and serving up scoops of ice cream! Always love stopping by to see what’s going on in their themed room!

VAELP/HEF offices will be closed Thursday, April 11th as we prepare for our Fourth Annual Excellence in Education Celebration. This fundraiser brings together our schools and our community partners who prioritize education and opportunities for our communities children. This year we are celebrating workforce and career development in Henrico County with interactive learning exhibits that demonstrate what makes Henrico County Public Schools special in its preparation of students to be the workforce for the future.

Our CEO, Damon Jiggetts, has begun touring our partnering centers to learn the ins and outs of the Community VPI Program offered in Henrico County. There's a big difference between HEF's afterschool programs and VAELP's preschool programs! There is so much to learn. 😁 He will continue his tours through the month of March.

Tonight is the night!! Make sure to come check it out and see if you can find your child’s ornament!

Tonight is the big reveal of our Christmas tree made by engineering students from the Advanced Career Education Center at Highland Springs, along with ornaments made by students in HEF’s afterschool and early learning programs.

Come out to Main Street Train Station tonight at 7pm for the 4th annual RBI's Christmas Under the Clocktower event. Enjoy holiday festivities including music, sweet treats, and Christmas trees decorated by local non-profits. Vote for your favorite tree at the event ($1 = 1 vote). Every vote helps support Henrico County Public Schools students.

What a fun way to kick off the holiday season! See you there!

We just gathered a second load of food to take over to a local food pantry here in our community. We have such amazing parents here. We could never thank you enough for all you do for those around you. You are truly a blessing to all of us here at TUCKAWAY West thank you so much. 

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We hope everyone has a safe and fun, exciting night. Did you know Halloween candy is perfect for teaching simple Math?! Have your children group the candy by color, type (chocolate/fruity/hard/chewy), or size. Use it as a prop in a word problem- "If you have 5 snickers bars and Mom eats 2, how many do you have left?" Have fun with it, but don't eat too much. 😁
