We’re less than ONE WEEK away from our Back-to-School Open House!

We are EXCITED to welcome our students and families back to Henning Public School on Wednesday, August 26, from 4:00–7:00 p.m.! 🧡

Open House is a great opportunity to:

🌮 FREE DINNER!
Taco-in-a-Bag will be served in the school cafeteria from 4:00–7:00 p.m. for all students and families.

📱 Online Registration Reminder:
All Back-to-School communication and documentation will be completed electronically through Online Registration in the JMC Family Portal. Need a little help? Staff will be available in the library during Open House to assist families with completing registration.

New families: Please contact the school to receive your initial JMC login information.

🎨Join the Landmark Center Henning and Artist Chalsey Falk in the Community Mural Project of painting the Station Building 🎨

Weather permitting, they are scheduled to paint Wednesday thru Friday, Aug.12-14, 3-shifts per day, 2-hours per shift:

🕗 8:00 – 10:00 am
🕙 10:00 – 12:00 – Noon
🕓 4:00 – 6:00 pm

📸 Summer Library Scavenger Hunt 📸

Who: Students who are in grades 1st thru 5th during the 2026-2027 school year are invited to play!

What: This summer, your child can become a "Color Detective."
➡️ Each week of the summer, a different colored crayon will be hidden at a local business on main street in Henning. Clues to find the crayons will be posted on our social media pages.
1️⃣- Go to local businesses to locate the crayon and its secret word. (a different business each week for 10 weeks)
2️⃣- Take a "Selfie" or Photo: The student must appear in the photo with the crayon at the business!
3️⃣- Write the secret word in your Color World Passport.
4️⃣- Bring your passport to the library on Wednesdays during the summer between 10am and 7pm and get it stamped each week.
➡️ At the end of the 10 weeks, the 10 photos and the completed sentence in the Passport will be all they need to claim a Reading
Colors Your World prize.

Week of August 3rd - 8th➡️

Happy Last Days of July Henning School Families!!! Our Back-to-School Open House is only four weeks away - Wednesday, August 26. I have included a link to our Back-to-School Family Letter. We've got spirit, yes we do! We've got spirit, how 'bout you?! 🧡🖤❤️🖤

🌞 Summer Time = Fun Time Targeted Services students are having a blast this week ‼️

During science time students had the opportunity to do some smashing. 🔨 Students also made predictions, used google lens to identify items (decided if google was wrong or not) and determined what animals would or wouldn't eat said organic items.

🐾🐝 These students also brightened up our hallways with the OTC Bulldogs& HHS Hornet designs. 🐾🐝

☀️ Time = Fun Time Summer Targeted Services Session 2 will be next week, Monday, August 3 - Thursday, August 6. Sessions run from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. ☀️
