HESF is proud to support Tori Lott on her new endeavor with Hennessey Public Schools. We hope Mrs. Lott and her students had a great start to the year with their new supplies! 📚🦅
Here’s what Mrs. Lott had to say about her program - This year, our school has decided to meet students where they are. We have restructured the special education programming in order to best serve our students with the highest level of needs. These students have struggled for years trying to participate fully with their peers of the same age. This causes their deficits and gaps to grow, instead of meeting their specific academic and social needs. We are excited for this opportunity to better individualize the education for these students. This kit includes ready-made lessons with manipulative and visuals. The company will also replace missing or damaged materials free of charge. The core kit includes 82 academic skills, 33 job training skills, and 48 self help skills and an assessment kit. Everything a new special education classroom needs to hit the ground running. It includes already made lesson plans, and a training academy for new teachers. This program is data informed and based on skill levels, not age levels. OATECA is an investment for ALL students in the district with severe educational needs and can be used for years to come. It serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade providing consistency for our students as they move throughout HPS.
