It was a colorful day at MHMS with our new elementary Hawks joining their nests, and the middle school Hawks inducted into their Order of Heroes! We celebrated High Flying Hawks and learned about RESPECT from a martial arts instructor as well as some amazing performances by talented musicians and the whole elementary. The first Order Games of the year kicked off with the traditional Ships and Sailors game with Theseus taking home the win.

Vol State women’s soccer scored six goals in the second half and seven different players found the back of the net in their inaugural win Saturday against Chattanooga State.

What does “Committed to Excellence” mean? Show up. When it gets hard, that’s when you get good. Consistency—the secret ingredient to success. You only have to practice on days that you eat. Be yourself, stay true to who you are. Music and band students got this priceless wisdom earlier this week from some of the best in the music industry—Megan Mullins Owen (Alabama), Phil Desteiguer (Blake Shelton), and Chris Young. These musicians and songwriters spoke intimately about who inspired them to pursue their dreams, the road from student to successful artist, and shared some advice to aspiring Hawk artists. Special thanks to MHMS parent and professional musician Steven Seils for making this happen!
