Despite a cool start, our annual Field Day was a blast! As the sun warmed the field, our incredible volunteers cranked up tug-of-war, foot fishing, parachute fun, splash relays, the car wash and snack table. Our Ones class enjoyed their own Water Day on the playground! Such a fun way to close out our final full week of the school year!

This past week was super busy at MCCS! Lots of little hands were putting finishing touches on special Mother's Day gifts, and our PreK and Mixed Age classes hosted a Mother's Day Tea and program for their moms. Additionally, the GREATEST families, with the coordination of our parent liaison team, showered our staff each day with treats for Teacher Appreciation Week! We are blessed with the best!

At the beginning of March, our Ones class embarked on an incredible adventure! After collecting frog eggs, they began an 8-week journey following complete metamorphosis! Once they had swimming tadpoles, the class enjoyed feeding them spinach, cucumber, tropical fish flakes, algae wafers and brine shrimp. Our class refreshed the water 2-3 times a week, with one kiddo even bringing creek water from home! After several froglets had developed and everyone had a chance to hold one, the froglets and remaining tadpoles were released in our on-campus creek. One of our friends even took a froglet home to release in her home creek! This was such an engaging hands-on learning experience!

Our annual Farm Day today was incredible, and we have so many people to thank for making it extra-special: Stepp Haven Homestead for bringing their animals and coordinating help from our homeschool friends; Barnyard Bandits for bringing their animals; Kirby Johnson for loaning his tractor and trailer; Anthony Hill for driving; and Ms. Kelli for strategic planning and lots of sweat equity!

What a spectacular Easter Fun Day we had today! From egg hunts to face painting, jumping in the bounce house to playing Easter-themed games, our students agreed it was one of the best days ever! Huge thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers and to Miss Kelli, assistant director, for her hard work in bringing the pieces together!
