Welcome Mr. Axley, our new health science teacher at MHMS!

Mr. Axley, RN, is building our new health science department at MHMS. He has been a registered nurse for 14 years! He has worked in medical-surgical units, CCU, ER, long-term care, and corrections. Most recently, he worked in nurse management for Interventional Cardiology at Centennial Heart in Nashville. He also taught taught health science for four years at Springfield High School.

In his free time, Mr. Axley enjoys gardening with his four-year-old son, playing video games and D&D, building Legos, and collecting medical antiques.

We are so excited to have Mr. Axley at MHMS!

Congratulations to Sophia and Maddy, and all of our ICDC competitors!

International Excellence—Top 10 finish at the international career development conference for seniors Sophia Zhang and Maddy Packianathan!! They competed alongside 26,000 other student from the US and Canada. So proud of them!

Leah Liles and Avery Morris, WBL students who completed an internship at Vol State’s chemistry lab, shared their research and performed experiments with kids at Vol State’s math and science expo! Great job, ladies!

Savanna Rumsey spoke with students about her career as a necropsy tech at Purdue University. Savanna diagnoses and performs autopsies on animals. Thank you for sharing your career with our students, Savanna!
