Chick-Fil-A made the headlines this week for refusing to incorporate AI into their drive-through experience. As someone who has (ashamed to say!) "argued" with the AI ordering bot at Bojangles, I applaud this decision! Why is Chick-Fil-A avoiding this drive-through trend? The answer is simple...because they believe that people skills matter. Human to human contact makes a difference in the customer's overall experience. So, what does this teach us about career preparation? Work on your human to human, interpersonal skills. At North Star Learning, we can offer your kid or company "skills classes/lessons" to improve job readiness!

Parents - even if you're not sure if your high school senior is going to college next fall, go ahead and fill out the FAFSA form now. This form helps determine whether your child gets any sort of financial aid, either at two- or four-year colleges. There are deadlines, so do it sooner rather than later!

Oracle Lay-Offs...What Does This Tell us About AI?

For the 2nd time in 2026, global tech giant Oracle has laid off more people. More than 30,000 people in total could be impacted now. The reason given..."Restructuring" that is intended to support rising AI costs.

What does this tell us? AI is impacting the world of work in major ways. Be aware, read good articles, and know that diversification of skills is critical for long-term employment. They even laid off people who were training the AI!
