One of the best things a student can do this school year is start paying attention to themselves.
What subjects do they enjoy?
What problems do they like solving?
What comes naturally to them?
How does athletic or extracurricular involvement shape work interests?
Or....perhaps a better question is: "What activities make them lose track of time?"
Career exploration is not about asking a 14-year-old to choose one job for the rest of their life.
It's about helping them discover clues about who they are so they can make better choices about classes, experiences, college, training, and future careers.
This school year, encourage your student to become a student of themselves. The better they understand themselves, the better prepared they will be to explore careers that fit.
