🐣🌷 Easter Fun at Childcare! 🌷🐣

We’ve been having so much fun getting into the Easter spirit! The children enjoyed dyeing eggs, going on a simple and exciting egg hunt, and working on their fine motor skills by gluing and decorating their own Easter eggs. 🐰🥚 It’s been such a joy watching their creativity and excitement!

✨ Reminder for families:
We will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday. Childcare will resume on Tuesday morning.

Wishing all of our wonderful families a very Happy Easter filled with love, joy, and lots of sweet moments! 💛🌸

🌈✨ A Sweet & Busy month at Over The Mountain Care! ✨🌈

This month was full of learning, laughter, and lots of little moments that make this job so special. 💕

We started our morning with imaginative play — caring for baby dolls, practicing nurturing skills, and building those sweet social-emotional connections. Watching the children role-play and care for their “babies” is always the cutest thing! 🍼💗

We had some quiet, cozy moments with books (and even a surprise little reader who decided the book made the perfect pillow 😴📚). Rest and literacy all in one — we love to see it!

Outside time was full of fresh air and exploration. The babies enjoyed tummy time and sitting play while our older friends explored toys, shared space, and practiced gentle interactions. 🌤️🧸

Inside, we worked on:
🔹 Fine motor skills with blocks and building
🔹 Color recognition and problem-solving
🔹 Independent play and focus
🔹 Large motor movement in our play tent

It’s amazing to see how much growth happens in just one month — from stacking blocks to practicing balance to learning how to take turns. Every activity is building confidence and independence. 💪✨

Thank you for trusting me with your little ones. They are learning, growing, and so very loved here. 💛

Snow days hit a little different when childcare feels like family. 💙❄️

Nothing fills my heart more than seeing pictures of our kiddos snuggled up at home with their pups, big smiles, baking cookies, and winter magic all around. This is what in-home childcare is all about—connection, comfort, and community that extends beyond my front door. Thank you for sharing your snow day moments with me 🤍

Nap time isn’t just a break in the day—it’s a vital part of healthy growth and learning in childcare 🌙
For children, rest supports brain development, emotional regulation, memory, and overall well-being. A well-rested child is better able to focus, play, and engage positively with others.

And for caregivers, nap time provides a much-needed moment to reset, observe, plan, and ensure the environment stays calm and safe. When children rest, everyone benefits—creating a more balanced, nurturing space for learning and care 💛

Why Real Play Matters in the Dramatic Play Area 🧽💧

Real play experiences—like access to running water and child-safe cleaning supplies—turn dramatic play into powerful learning moments. When children wash dishes, wipe tables, or care for their play space, they are imitating real-life roles they see every day, which builds confidence, independence, and a strong sense of responsibility. These experiences strengthen fine motor skills, language development, and problem-solving as children narrate their actions and work together. Most importantly, real play helps children make meaningful connections between their classroom and their world—because the best learning happens when play feels real.

“A little intro to the heart behind the care 💛”

Hey everyone! I’m Lindsay — a childcare provider and early childhood educator, and I’m so excited to introduce myself!

Working with kids has always been something close to my heart. I love creating a space where children feel safe, loved, and confident to be exactly who they are. For me, teaching isn’t just about letters and numbers — it’s about helping little ones grow emotionally, socially, and in their own unique way.

One of my biggest goals is to make learning feel fun and natural. I want my childcare to feel like a second home — calm, nurturing, and full of positive energy. Whether we’re doing sensory play, story time, or gross motor activities, everything is centered around helping kids explore, move, and learn through play.

I’m especially passionate about hands-on learning, routines that support independence, and building strong relationships with both children and families. I truly believe that when kids feel supported, they thrive.

Thank you for being here and supporting my journey. I’m so excited to continue growing, teaching, and making a difference in the lives of the little ones I care for!

✨ Look at this little explorer go! ✨

As our tiny humans start to sit, wiggle, and scoot, a little back support goes a long way! This cozy support helps our early movers stay upright, balanced, and comfy while they work on those big developmental milestones.

🍼💪 It helps with:
• Strong neck & core muscles
• Better balance
• Safe sitting
• More confident movement
• And LOTS of happy playtime

When babies feel supported, they can focus on what matters most — playing, learning, and being adorable 😍

I didn’t want loud hallways, rushed schedules, or revolving doors.
I wanted unhurried days.
I wanted comfort.
I wanted a space that feels like home 🤍

I’m so excited to officially introduce Over The Mountain Care — a home-based childcare program currently in the licensing process.

This space was created with intention:
🤍 Small group care
🤍 Play-based learning
🤍 Strong routines
🤍 A nurturing, safe environment

Over The Mountain Care exists to support families looking for quality care and providers navigating the childcare journey.

Enrollment will be limited, and I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes of our licensing process, daily routines, and provider tips along the way.

✨ Thank you for being here — this is just the beginning.

Trust the process… we finally passed our building inspection! 🎉

After two years in the making, I am beyond excited to reveal our newly renovated childcare space. This journey came with its fair share of setbacks, but every challenge was worth it. With over $20,000 in renovations, we successfully transformed a garage into a warm, safe, and welcoming childcare environment designed with children in mind.

This incredible milestone would not have been possible without the generous support of the Southwestern Childcare Commission, whose grant helped make this vision a reality. I am deeply grateful for their investment in quality early childhood education.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will be enrolling at a capacity of 10 children, and I couldn’t be more excited for what this next chapter holds. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in this dream—I can’t wait to welcome families into our new space and begin this exciting new adventure together.

Next chapter: Licensing 😊. Also check comments for a walkthrough!
