One Book One Community

Our GBE 3rd and 4th graders have received four clues so far:
1. New York City
2. A mouse hole
3. Ping pong balls
4. Never ever let them hear
the rhyme, “ Three Blind Mice!”

Book Shelfie continues to video message the students in their classrooms! 😉. What will the next clue be? Only 2 days left before the final book reveal!

3rd and 4th graders at GBE got their first clue today for One Book Blitz. What do you think the first clue means?

It’s One Book Blitz time at Gene Brown Elementary! Look what the Book Shelfie brought us!!!

So, when Mrs. Holland and Mrs. Milhorn were collecting books for our book swap next week we found Mrs. Martin and Ms. Brewer reading aloud to their class. 🙂. Just that by itself was wonderful, however there was more to the story! It turns out both classes loved “The Chocolate Touch” so much, and had such a fun time with the trivia they didn’t want it to end there. Also, these classes love fun, healthy competition! Sooo...they are continuing the trivia competition with a new book called, “The Friendship War.” I don’t know about you...but we will be very interested to see who wins this one! We ❤️ this!!!

Our One Book Blitz with the book “Chocolate Touch” has come to an end, and we ended it big!!!! Our Trivia winners were rewarded with a CHOCOLATE SLIME PARTY!!! Mrs. Milhorn taught the children all about the science behind slime, and and the children were able to mix up all of the ingredients to make the delicious smelling slime. Congratulations to Mrs. Brewer’s class and Mrs. Roddy’s class for winning our “Crunch Time” trivia!

For all of our classes, we had a yummy Chocolate Fountain party with lots of delicious fruits and marshmallows for dipping!

We can see that families are reading! If you are behind on reading there is time to catch up this weekend and finish strong. Our book is sooo close to being finished. We hope you have enjoyed the time reading together! Remember, our classes need all the kiddos present on Monday to finish strong! See you Monday kiddos!
